Very authentic Korean food in the neighborhood. Bulgogi beef and beef bibimbap are delicious in good portions. Love their side dishes too. Will be back to try other dishes. Recommend if you are in north Vancouver.

Checked out Busan Daeji Gukbap for a Sunday lunch. They have a second location out in Coquitlam. There was only one waitress running the front so it took awhile to get our order in.- Banchan - kimchi, cubed radish, braised potato and pickled onion. Nothing stood out but decent fare. We were able to get a refill of everything.- Tteok-boki ($16.99) - okay but there wasn't much substance to this dish. Wish it came with some rice.- Sundubu ($17.99) - we opted for the seafood (good amount of mussels) and spice level 3. Broth was flavourful.- Dolsot bibimbap ($17.99) - rice came out sizzling and crisped up perfectly. Good balance of flavours.Better than expected Korean eats at BDG but it doesn't beat Maru Korean Bistro in North Van.

We were looking for a place to grab lunch after a hike and settled on Busan Daeji Gukbap. They're located next to Vaades The Indian Restaurant. They also have a second location out in Coquitlam. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 12:45pm). There was only one waitress running the front so it took awhile to get our order in. The menu is large with meal, combo, BBQ, special dishes, hot pot and chicken (aka. KFC) options. Prices are on the higher end. - Banchan - kimchi, cubed radish, braised potato and pickled onion. Nothing stood out but decent fare. We were able to get a refill of everything. - Tteok-boki ($16.99) - okay but there wasn't much substance to this dish. Wish it came with some rice. Didn't think it was worth the price point. - Sundubu ($17.99) - we opted for the seafood (good amount of mussels) and spice level 3. Broth was flavourful and there was a slight blimp of heat that came through. - Dolsot bibimbap ($17.99) - rice came out sizzling and crisped up perfectly. Good balance of flavours. Better than expected Korean eats at BDG but it doesn't beat Maru Korean Bistro in North Van.

Some of the best soup I've had (speaking about the pork bone soup), and I've been to all the Korean restaurants as far east as maple ridge and west as... well, here. Easily top 3.

Won’t recommend this restaurant at all, the way that they put mandatory 15% tips in your bill and ask you to pay for it…. I can accept if you do providing good service but then tips is still up to the customers and not you forcing to put in the bill…. Especially they add 15% tips after taxes…. It is unacceptable and will never go back again

I love Korean food! This is one of my favourites on the north shore. Comfortable seating, mini parkade at front. Interesting entry. Staff is prompt but on occasion not the most friendly (I blame my non existent speaking skills of Korean). Food has always been above average. I usually order soups, and they have always been consistent.

Very overpriced!!! We ordered a bulgogi hotpot when it came there was barley any soup left in the pot. Don't even mention the BBQ, 4 tiny slices of pork belly for almost 30$. Do NOT come to this place !

Extremely unethical restaurant. Overpriced to the max. Pork belly for 30 dollars. Gives 5 strips of pork belly about 10 cm long. Everything was just cut up from the butcher and Not processed in any way. The soups there are also overpriced too. The place is old and outdated. There is absolutely NO reason anyone should come here instead of anywhere else unless you want to get ripped off by cheap unethical restaurant owners.

I’ve lived in the area for a few years now but hadn’t tried Busan Daejj Gukbap until very recently. I’ve been missing out! I went a couple times in the last few months and tried a few different dishes and they’ve all been so good. The side dishes were all my favourites as well. Hoping to try their fried chicken next time! I also found the staff incredibly warm and friendly.I highly recommend this place for people both familiar and unfamiliar with Korean food.

Wow, such a great spot. Medium spicy coconut curry chicken was excellent as was the exotic lamb. The appy platter was a good start too. Nan bread was fresh and not greasy. Service was good. Only "complaint" would be how chilly it is in there due to the door opening and closing constantly with delivery service pick-ups. Wear a coat to dine in.

This place was traumatizing. Don't go here if you want Korean BBQ. The service was so bad that it gave me an anxiety attack. My partner was able to eat; I was too upset to enjoy it. I should have read the reviews before going inside.

Very good Korean food on the North Shore! I really enjoy their specialty which is dwaeji gukbap. This stew is made with a delicious bone broth that is not spicy. I especially like the accompaniments which includes noodles, chives, salted shrimp, pepper paste and of course, kimchi. If you’re looking for something spicier, the gamjatang is delicious!

Spacey and relatively empty at 2/3pm. We had soondae and gukbap. All my friends (not Korean) and I (Korean) loved the food here, and the lady was very kind. 10/10 would visit again

I think everyone came this place different menu item. Definitely not for daeji gukbap. Side dishes are okay. But gukbap(pork bone soup) is not that rich. Put a bit too much water. And meat has too much strong smell. Even though you may still go there for gop chang jungole (곱창 전골). Eveyone had that one while we visited for gukbap.
