There was a HAIR in my main course. I was charged for half of the meal price. Although o only ate 1/4 of the meal before untangling a long hair in my mouth.
I’m giving only one star to the atmosphere as it was dead in the restaurant, one star for service as I feel the server was negligent in dealing g with the hair issue properly.
I will NEVER return to dine.

The ambiance and service are great, and their margaritas are delicious. However, their food needs improvement. The fish taco was disappointing, and the quesadillas didn’t look or taste right. I believe they could quickly review their recipes and enhance the quality and presentation of their food..

I love that this place had complimentary chips and salsa. I feel like that's a rarity these days. The virgin jalapeño margarita was perfect! I couldn't stop sipping on it! And the ensalada de casa was perfectly crunchy and the barbacoa on top was super tender. I have to take away some points for the shrimp and papaya quesadilla. The dish smelled off as soon as it was placed in front of me. I was expecting prawns inside, but they were small salad shrimp. And the papaya was hard and almost raw, like slices of raw sweet potato. Wouldn't get that dish again.

My family loves this place. We’ve been several times and even with two small children under three we feel welcome and well served. The food is delicious, the portions are fair, and the service is extremely friendly.

My go to is the Chile relleno. The kids menu is small but enough; tonight my son devoured what can only be described as a hotdog wrapped in a fried tortilla and boy was it good.

A cozy neighbourhood Mexican. This restaurant, while group and family friendly, is a warm and cozy eatery with broad appeal. The menu is extensive and offers good value and familiar choices. The food here is prepared with fresh and healthy ingredients, as if prepared at home for family. The sampled menu items were tasty and flavourful, and generously portioned. Service was mostly attentive and very accommodating. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. I shall return to Cantina Norte and can recommend it to others without hesitation.

Such a good experience here. Had lunch on a Saturday, opted for a patio table and took our time. The restaurant is open and spacious, clean and inviting. The menu is varied and well curated, the food is delicious and high quality. We shared the excellent Fondido, the chicken torte and prawn tempura tacos. Before we even ordered they brought us chips and a lovely salsa dip which set the tone. Service was attentive but not pushy, and the server was very nice, topping up our waters without us having to ask. It was fairly quiet and our server said the evening service was busier and popular. I highly recommend you make the trip up to Edgemont, it is worth it!

Visited here last night with my mom. Service was good, and menu was large. First clue the food wasn’t their strength was the salsa, tastes like it’s from a jar. My Mom had the tacos and felt they were fine, I had the burrito, wasn’t good or bad.

I think the food could benefit from a chef, the ingredient quality does seem to be there though.

To be fair the server did offer to fix my plate, but I didn’t not have the heart to tell him it was bland and the pork was dry.

I’m going to give it another try, I would encourage the staff to give honest feedback right up the chain, perhaps it was just an off night?

A remarkably authentic Mexican experience in North Vancouver. Food is great and service is terrific. It’s so nice to sit on their patio on a nice day, sipping a delicious margarita. Don’t miss happy hour!

If you want to try a real mexican food , DONT GO THERE! I was excited to visit this place because they have good reviews and good pictures, but i was dissapointed because they say is mexican but is not, is like a mix with mexican and american style and something inspired by the chef. But i can be ok if the taste is good.
I ordered Chile Relleno with chorizo and cheese because is a signature dish, i found only 5 little pieles of chorizo and full filled of cheese but the worse thing it was the old and dry rice and beans, even they didn’t warmed up.
Sorry but i have a bad experience here.

We just took out fish tacos for dinner today. We’ve done this before, and this has been the worst so far. We couldn’t even finish them this time as the fish was way too salty, missing avocados and the tortillas were soggy and falling apart as always. We spent $50 for dinner and weren’t very impressed, very disappointed and not very happy about it. We wouldn’t recommend fish tacos for take out ever!!!!
