The sushi is fantastic, very fresh. They offer ramen now too. I do miss the old interior a bit, found it more cozy with the classical music. This place has been here for a long time and is one of our favorites on the North Shore.

I got the lunchbox this afternoon and it was so delicious. The fish tasted so fresh. Perfect amount of rice. Staff were super friendly. I’d definitely go back :)

We’ve been going to Genji for years, either eat in or pick up. It’s never been our number one but it’s been decent enough and is close to home. The last takeout meal we had from there was absolutely awful, we honestly didn’t finish eating it. Sushi did not taste fresh and it completely lacked flavour. Sunomono salad was tasteless. Ohitashi had no sesame dressing and was tough to chew. The two sushi cones I ordered looked like they were assembled by a first grader. And the Korean style deep fried chicken, Which in the past was good, had a great crispy batter, but where was the chicken? Some pieces literally had nothing inside and others had a thin strip of chicken jerky that was inedible. I’m confused and disappointed. We won’t be ordering from here again.

Great selection with some innovative dishes. May not be traditionally Japanese but still very good.
Examples would be the rolls. With thinly sliced cucumber as a wrap. Or soy paper.
Fresh flavors and healthy.

Irene is a beautiful And her service is absolutely wonderful out of this world. She rocks this world.
Terribly slow service - be prepared to wait an hour and pay $80-100 for your sushi order
The ramen was excellent 👌
Loved the cozy booths.
Service was fast.
I recently dined at Genji and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The ambiance was elegant yet cozy, perfect for both a casual dinner and a special occasion. The staff was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that every detail was perfect.
Now, the sushi—absolutely phenomenal! The fish was incredibly fresh, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that truly sets this place apart. Every piece was crafted with precision, from the perfectly seasoned rice to the beautifully balanced flavors. We had some drinks and we were so satisfied 😊
Overall, Genji exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for top-quality sushi with outstanding service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
Quality has gone down over time and prices are high... haven't gone in the last while.
A cozy place to meet friends. Food is just ok.

The restaurant was cozy and clean, service was fast and the food was delicious. I really loved the Pork Katsu Don bowl and the tempura was really yummy.
We always get takeout, but it looks nice inside. Incredibly good food! Wonderful chicken udon. Rolls are great, but there is no brown rice. That's why 4 stars.
Very poor service .
I like the private tables they have, and the service is really nice. Unfortunately we weren’t overly impressed with the food. It was okay, but nothing special and quite expensive. I do hope to come back to try the Korean fried chicken though, supposedly it really stands out.
Love that place. Good food, happy people and it has been just remodel. That made it look great. It also have privet rooms.
