The staff here are kind and respectful—no issue there. But the speed? Absolutely unbearable. Today there were five people working behind the bar, only two customers ahead of me, and it still took 15+ minutes for a basic latte.
They’re not chatting or slacking off—they’re just unbelievably slow. And that’s a problem.
With this pace, you simply can’t compete with places like Starbucks. Friendly doesn’t make up for inefficient.

Fix it.

Typical friendly little coffee shop. Staff seemed nice, didn't try to rush our little group out. Parking difficult but mall has a dollar an hour lot.

Good coffee and a selection of vegan baked goods, including a few different flavored muffins, cookies, and a scone. Also offer a vegan wrap. I enjoyed a pumpkin apple muffin with my soy latte to go. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-24

It's a cozy, beautiful coffee shop. Service is polite and helpful. This place is conveniently located by the 17th East and Lonsdale. Unfortunately they close at 6 o'clock. The location at Park and Telford closes at 9 p.m, which is very convenient.

Nice spot but always super busy so drinks can take longer than expected. Definitely try the vegan chocolate brownie cookie, it’s incredible!

I go to JJ Beans all over the lower mainland when I can so I won’t comment on the food or coffee (hint: best muffins and my favorite coffee), but the layout of this location is super cool. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating making it a bit of what appears to be a community hub. Also, the staff at this location are really friendly (although that usually seems to be the case at other locations). Well done on this particular JJ!

it's freezing. Perpetually freezing. You'll need a sweater or just wear your jacket. Ugh I have to bring a jacket already? It's not a super cozy cafe but they have pretty good coffee and nice staff.

Terrible experience. My husband went to pick up a Too Good To Go package today, and they didn't have anything ready. The first employee was nice and said sorry, offering him some fresh options. But then another employee (tall guy with gelled hair) refused and gave him the choice of an incomplete package or nothing, without even apologizing for making him walk to the store and wait for nothing. He just said, "You can cancel your order if you want," treating him with no respect at all, like he wasn't a valued customer. We've always shopped at this JJ Bean, but not anymore after this.
