I didn't know what I wanted. What I did know was I needed a good lunch.
Exhausted and overwhelmed stepping away from Lions Gate Hospital for much needed fresh air and lunch. I had to think about what kind of lunch I wanted. Sushi? no. Wraps? no. Burgers? no. Bowls? no.
All of a sudden it hit me! Wait, there's this cute little Cafe. Let's try it.
I ordered a Tuna Sandwich on multigrain toasted with a Chicken Curry Soup. I'm not going to get into the mechanics and details of a Tuna Sandwich, but I will tell you...it was perfect. Just try it...you'll see. Get it toasted, why? Well....because this place knows how to toast properly. Yes, you can go wrong with toasting.
Ok...I'll tell you. The bread was so fresh that it shared centre stage with the tuna salad which was also perfectly created, and this beauty of a sandwich was presented toasted in such a way that all the right cracks, crinkles, dips and juices aligned in all the lines and crevices of the splendid piece of Multigrain.
OK..on to the soup. Finely shredded chicken lending itself to the smokey and robust flavour of the curry with a composition only a well made soup can offer. Loved it.
Like I mentioned, I didn't know what I wanted. What I ended up getting was not only what I wanted, but what I needed. A homestyle prepared delicious lunch crafted with care and pride served by courteous and respectful folks in the most cozy, clean and well maintained Cafe. The faint Christmas music and tasteful Season's decorations on the windows looking onto 14th. street reminded me how much I love this time of Year.
All of this an unassuming little Cafe did. How can I not be back.

I came in for a latte and i was instantly met with a warm and friendly environment, the owner was super friendly and the christmas decorations around the café were so sweet and lovely!

Delicious food and wonderful service! We ordered the Kimbap, spicy cold noodles, and ttoekbbokki and every single one of them was amazing! Definitely worth the drive to North Van. I wish I had more room in my stomach to try more. Will be coming back to try them all!

Gem of a place. Bibimbap for breakfast loaded with veg is exactly what I was looking for after having to stay overnight at the hospital. They made the bulgogi panini without carrots to accommodate allergies.
