I don’t recommend you to visit there. I went there very quiet time. No other any customers there except me. I ordered a sushi (donburi) to go. Then a lady asked me to have a seat the chair in front of the door which was very uncomfortably one.(it was close to outside and the chair was cold)
I just wondered why they let me have a seat since I’ve never seen this restaurant was busy (I mentioned but no one was there at that time except me) but when I asked to have a chair with table, they said no. I was like why???? For what??????
Then few minutes later I’ve got sushi (donburi) and it made me VERY disappointed since it had only few pieces fish slices and didn’t cover rice at ALL. Then I paid $30 was too expensive
I shouldn’t come there. Btw I’m from sushi country and Taste was not good as well
I’m sure They will make you disappointed as well

The miso soup and sushi were great! Unfortunately, the level of service was not as good as expected which makes the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. We really liked the food but the place sadly lacks hospitality.

When I saw the reviews and read a couple of them talking about having not seen a warm reception, I immediately thought this might be rooted in cultural differences and misunderstanding. So I tried it. I highly recommend this store.
I decided to pop in for a quick bite before I started work next door, and immediately felt a weird and unfriendly vibe from who I assume is the owner? There was no one in the tiny restaurant and he wanted me to sit at the bar. I said no thanks I prefer a small table.. I tried to order a dish and he informed me they don’t have it. Fine. I’ll just take a California roll and he says that’s not enough and I’ll need to order more? I don’t want a big meal as I just need a snack. There’s a small sign saying “$10 minimum” Ive never heard of such a thing. As someone who works in the service industry I would never treat a guest this way. I hate to dog on a small business, but these days you really do rely on your customers to keep your business afloat. If you are going to be rude, annoyed and enforce ridiculous rules, then don’t be surprised to see the negative outcome. There are dozens of bad reviews here for a reason. Disappointing and unnecessary.

just based off of these reviews this restaurant is already a no go. this owner seems to be extremely rude and cannot take criticism nor responsibility.

I recently visited this restaurant and was immediately put off by the lack of hospitality. When I arrived, I greeted the chef, who was cooking right in the middle of the dining area, and asked where I could sit. Unfortunately, he didn’t acknowledge my greeting and simply told me to find a spot myself.
I ordered a dynamite roll and was then informed that I needed to order more than $10 worth of food to dine inside, otherwise, I would have to take my food to go. This policy was not communicated clearly, and it was actually another guest who had to explain it to me, as the chef had difficulty speaking English. Although there were plenty of free tables, I reluctantly agreed to take my order to go, even though, with tax, my order totaled more than $10.
When I received my food, the container was very small and so cheaply made that they had to use a rubber band to keep it closed. To make matters worse, the sushi was dry, and the portion consisted of only five small pieces. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and the quality of the food did not match the price.

Maybe it's not the type of service expected in this country, but I can get the service needed and amazing sushi that matters.

I am appalled by the tone of many of these reviews. This is not the place to take revenge on a business owner because you have a view about the racist, mistreatment that he received from a local resident. I am honestly disturbed by theses behaviours.
This aside, this mom and pop restaurant is a gem in Edgemont Village and on the North Shore for that matter. The owners are hard-working, honest people who take great pride in the food that they serve. I have always had a great meal there over the last 20 years. The restaurant is CLEAN and the food is always FRESH. The owners value high quality ingredients and this is exactly what you get.

I’m an avid foodie and today i made the worst decision of going to this restaurant! The food tasted completely horrendous me and my companions were not pleased at all.The costumer service was very bad and the food came very slow. When the food arrived it tasted like it wasn’t fresh and it had little to no taste. Please if you are trying to save your self’s from the worst, Don’t Go Here!
