I ordered the caprese salad and told them the tomatoes were bad. She told me they were “heirloom” tomatoes but they tasted like the inside of a fridge. Then they took the dish and didn’t take it off the bill. The tiramisu tasted like lemon for some reason. Staff rolled their eyes when we asked to leave cheese off the dish. Rude and unfortunate. Spent over $100 also. Shocked.

I visited Orto in a group of 4. We ordered the garden salad, which had fresh vegetables and shaved Parmesan. It was light and a great way to start the meal. The veggies seemed like they had just been picked from the garden! Sooo fresh. I ordered the Burrata spaghetti. The pasta was cooked PERFECTLY, and the sauce was amazing. It is a great vegetarian option for someone who doesn’t eat meat. We also ordered the special of the day, the bolognese, and the tomato tart (i personally loved this). Just a note- the tarte is slightly sweet, so for anyone who is looking for something savoury as a main, I would reccomend them to try something else. Overall it was a great experience and beautiful garden.

Beautiful experience and delicious fresh food done right. One of my favs.
Such a lovely North Vancouver restaurant for authentic Italian cuisine! Their outside patio is beautiful with fresh fruit growing in the gardens surrounding it and beautiful string lights that light up the garden in the evening. The service was fantastic, never grew hungry as I waited for my meal and the owner of this restaurant is such a lovely Woman and such a pleasure to chat with. All the staff here were so very kind. I’ve never been to big of a fan of a Caesar Salad but anytime I come or I have family go I’ll order a Caesar Salad or have them bring me back one. It’s the best salad I’ve ever had. All of the Pasta’s are fantastic the gnocchi and the ravioli are to die for! My favourite pasta is the seafood pasta and it is excellent! The tiramisu, and the lemon tart are also two things I will treat myself to every time I come both of them are absolutely delicious although you can never go wrong with their affogato if you need a little kick and some coffee! 10/10 Italian restaurant!

We learned of ORTO while visiting Grouse Mountain. Asked others on the gondola for best recommendations and ORTO was named by 4 others. It did not disappoint! We had the special Tomato Tartine and three different pasta creations. The pastas were great but the Tartine was exceptional! This was a great meal and the owner himself was our server and added all the backstory for this wonderful spot. Thank you!

Some of the worst pasta I've had in Vancouver. How can one mess up carbonara so bad? And appetizer sweeter than dessert?
The only good thing about the whole affair was the beer

The patio seating is probably one of the best on the North Shore as it is a full blown garden with exquisite flowers, grape vines with fruit and veggies in each planter box. Highly recommend their ceasar salad and the pate was delicious. Ordered 2 pasta dishes and recommend the penne with chicken. I liked that there were vegetarian options. I also recommend their lemon tart. Service was courteous. Could be a tad more attentive and personal as I had to flag down someone to pay my bill. Go here for the food which is very good and the atmosphere.
