Palki has always been our go-to restaurant. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is warm, and the owner is one of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet. My husband and I recommend this place to everyone, and we’ve brought many friends here over the years because of the consistently great service.
But during our recent visit a couple of days ago, something felt very different. It seems the restaurant has hired a new female employee someone we have never seen before, clearly a very new hire and unfortunately, she completely ruined the experience for us and our friends.
From the moment we arrived, she gave us uncomfortable, almost hostile looks. Her attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and honestly one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve ever had at Palki. It felt like she didn’t want us there at all.
Because we care about this restaurant and respect the owner, I want to say this openly:
Before hiring anyone new, please make sure they understand your customer base, your standards, and the welcoming environment you’ve built. Properly interview them and make sure their behaviour matches the reputation Palki has earned over the years.
My husband and our friends who were with us that night had the same reaction, and they will be sharing their own experiences as well. We truly hope this issue is addressed, because we love Palki and want it to continue being the amazing place it has always been.

Ordered take-out. Butter Chicken and Muter Paneer were excellent. Ali Gobi… only so-so. Seemed like it was missing spices. The cauliflower was a little under cooked. Naan is out of this world!

Restaurant staff were very unprofessional. They didn't check their tab for 30 minutes, and I only found this out when I arrived to pick up my order. Instead of apologizing, they just smiled and told me they hadn't checked their tab.. then said it would take another 15 minutes to prepare the food. Very disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Our family had an incredible dining experience at Palki! The food was absolutely delicious, and everything was prepared with such care and flavor. The buttered chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced—definitely a standout dish. The eggplant was cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor, making it the perfect side. Of course, we can’t forget the naan—soft, warm, and the ideal complement to the curries.
The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. We left feeling completely satisfied, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this spot to anyone craving authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine!
This is a cozy restaurant just off Lonsdale Ave. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Reasonable prices made it even better.

First and foremost the food is BLAND and not good. Every dish tasted the same. BLAND mush. I am a frequent Indian food lover. I ordered 7 dishes. Chicken wings were pretty good (heavy yogurt marinade) they were oddly red as in too much food colouring. Besides that I ordered a tandoori chicken they brought out one breast cut into two pieces a thigh and one drumstick.... I asked and the waitress and she told me she is vegetarian and therefore has no idea about the skeletal structure of a chicken.... She then told me that it was an issue with the nomenclature and I read it wrong but when you write tandoori chicken that would indicate its a whole chicken. Palak paneer began bartha and channa masala and dal makhani. Not one of which where any good literally no flavor. I usually overeat at Indian because I love it so much I left hungry threw the leftovers in the garbage and heated up food when I got home. 175.00 later. What a waste of the night

Ok you're straight up lying now. I did not ask the waitress the flavor of tandoori wings it's quite self-explanatory. You can say whatever you want. But your food is MIDS. No amount of copium or lying about what transpired will change the fact the food does not taste good. I knew it was a bad sign when the only East Indian people in there were working.

Disappointing Buffet Experience with Major Service and Food Issues
I recently visited for their buffet lunch and, unfortunately, left feeling very disappointed. My experience was hampered by several issues, from parking to the meal itself.
Parking & Location: Be aware that they only offer street parking. Free parking is limited to one hour directly nearby, which is insufficient for a relaxed meal. I had to park further away in a 2-hour zone.
Service Mishap: A significant service error occurred when a server placed a naan bread on my table while I was briefly away washing my hands. As naan is a main course item, it became dry and hard long before I was ready to eat it. This should be served upon request or alongside the main course, not at the beginning.
The Food (A Letdown):
Starters: The options were potato wedges and tandoori chicken. The chicken was concerningly bright red, suggesting excessive artificial color, and it subsequently upset my stomach.
Main Course: The butter chicken also had an unnaturally high color. The beef curry was undercooked, and the rice was very dry.
Dessert: To my surprise, there was not a single dessert option available. A buffet without any sweet offering feels incomplete and was a first for me.
Overall, the combination of poor parking, a fundamental service error, and low-quality, artificially colored food made for a very disappointing visit. I cannot recommend their buffet based on this experience.

If you’re looking for a place with great Indian food, Palki Restaurant is the place to be. Every dish I ordered was delicious, fresh, and well-portioned. The paneer tikka and chicken biryani stood out the most for me. Clean environment, polite staff, and reasonable prices made this visit an absolute pleasure. Highly recommended!

Not going again.
So much money for mostly sauce. There was like 1 chicken breast between three entrees for $75. Ordered online so not sure if they just do that to delivery customers.
