Beware the Banh Mi N**** You have been warned. Perused the reviews after my daughter and I had a bad experience here yesterday. A previous comment mentioned that if you want a Seinfeld Soup N*** experience, this place is for you. That comment is spot on. Placed our order for one banh mi and two salad rolls. Asked the lady if they had Vietnamese coffee, at first told no, then yes. Got the feeling she didn't want to make it, so didn't order it. Was told 20 min wait, which seemed very long for such an order, but okay, went outside to wait in our car. Waited over 10 minutes before daughter went in to innocently ask how much longer, she was rudely addressed, "I told you 20 minutes!" Okay, waited longer than 20 min before I went in next. Politely asked if our order was ready and received a harsh reply, "I told you 20 minutes, if you keep coming back to ask how long, it will take me longer!" This response proved that she was rude to my daughter. I told her it had been more than 20 minutes, to which she then abruptly responded "I know what time you came in!" Then proceeded to fish through the receipts to find the time my order was taken. She finds it, tells me I came in at 3:38 and by this time it was well past 4pm. I cannot believe that I had to have an argument with this woman, to tell her all she had to do was let me know from the beginning it would take longer, as she was busy. I would have understood and been happy with such a reply. This is literally a hole in the wall type establishment. We saw no other customers while we waited outside and there was no one dining inside. Not saying that they weren't busy, as they could have very well had other orders, but this at least paints the full picture. It's a real shame this was our encounter, as the food was actually pretty good. Although, the prices on their website do not reflect pricing at their location (found this out afterwards). Ended up paying $17.50 for two salad rolls ($8 + $9.50 for a special one). Most casual places you get two per order for less than $8. This is more expensive than at a high end restaurant and really not worth it when a meal costs less than this. Bread was over toasted on the banh mi, otherwise tasty. To go through such effort to blame a customer simply for innocently inquiring about their order, was absolutely appalling. There is ZERO respect for customers at this establishment. Needless to say, we will NEVER RETURN and will not recommend this place. With the abundance of other nearby options that actually want your business, there is no reason to go back.

TERRIBLE service as follows- Rude when I asked about specials advertised in window which I was told were not available- Rude when she told me to leave and come back in 15 minutes, not allowed to wait for the order in the empty restaurant- Rude when I came back for food, seemed she had forgot me and was worried I wouldn’t get any food (cash and no receipt)- Rude when she summonsed me to corner of restaurant to continue to waitHonestly felt like why am I paying for this and would have walked away if I hadn’t already paidThankfully the food was fairly good meaning slightly better then just a regular cheap take out which considering the slightly higher price and excellent branding/photos you would expect, only reason for two stars and not one.Plenty of better restaurants in the area

Worst service ever. We almost walked away as she had no interest in helping us. When we finally received our food, she tried charging us $42. We complained and threatened to walk away. Than she charged us $29.95, which was still not correct but we paid to get the hell out of there. Never going back!!

Only reason I gave this place 1 star is so I could post a review. When I came up to the table to order I wanted to confirm the dish I saw pictured on the menu. She refused to come to the door or even attemp to help me. She told me to tell her what I want and she'll make it. Then she continued to ignore me so I left. One of the worse customer service ever.

I go to Pho Bon Mua for a Bahn Mi sandwich. It’s delicious and exactly what I need for my lunch. $7.75 for the Tofu Bahn Mi and it fills me up. The sauce is lovely and it’s packed full of a variety of veggies. It seems to be a one woman show, so don’t expect the service to be very fast.

I take pride in supporting local businesses and providing honest and usually very positive reviews. Sadly Pho Bon Mua has delivered a subpar experience. Average pho and the worst staff I have ever encountered. Others were waiting for their food, politely trying to get their attention and were blatantly ignored. Please give your money and time to other local resturant that appreciate your business.
Have you ever seen Seinfeld's soup n*** episode? it took me a few times to understand how to have the best experience at Pho Bon Mua.... understand Jenny is a one woman show. She has no help. She does all the cooking herself and for that we must respect her and order off the menu. Jenny Cooks the freshest ingredients from the best ingredients. And she seems to use higher quality oils than most places becauseI never have stomach upset after eating her food like I do other vietnamese. However, if you are in a rush... Go somewhere else. But if you're not in a rush and you can wait a little extra for your takeout order, you will not be sorry and you will want to go back regularly. If you consider yourself a good customer then you'll have a great experience there.however if you have an idea of what you want to eat and it's not on the menu and you try to explain it to her, you probably won't have a good experience. She's very busy so just order off the menu and be grateful that she's cooking such amazing food for you... and remember to tip well because her prices are so reasonable I wonder if she makes much of a profit.

I hadn't eaten here in a few years since leaving my job on the North Shore. Their low ratings seem to mostly reflect some early ratings when the service was really poor -- the owner also seemed to often close without notice despite it being normal business hours. Anyway, the food is what I'm reviewing here... During Covid, at least right now, they're doing take-out only, so I ordered their plant-based (vegan) satay peanut pho ($12 plus tax) to go for lunch one day. Absolutely massive portion of fresh vegetables, tofu, and rice vermicelli. That broth though... oh man, probably the best Vietnamese noodle soup broth I've ever had, as good as I remember it from a few years ago. Doesn't get much better than this. The broth is rich and heavy, but never too intense, and very balanced. Can't recommend this place more.

Amazing food, very affordable, will continue going to Pho Bon Mua as long as I can. If you don't like the service or the vibes then that's a you problem. It's a small operation cranking out delicious unique dishes, if you want the unrealistically cheery and friendly wait staff then go to a chain restaurant.Personally, I would rather support a local, womxn owned business regardless of if staff put a fake grin when i walk in.

I got takeout from this spot today, and it was truly so delicious. The spicy pho broth really hit the mark, and the Lemongrass chicken bahn mi was so so good. The quality exceeded expectations and was ready quick. I will order again soon! That broth - YUM
