We hired Served Catering for our wedding and were pleased with many aspects of their service - the food was excellent, and the team was professional and courteous throughout the evening. However, there were some issues that we feel are important to share for transparency and improvement.
First, water availability was a major concern. We had confirmed that water would be accessible for the wedding party by 2:00 PM, ahead of the welcome drinks at 3:30 PM. Unfortunately, no water was available at that time, and the best man had to leave the portrait session to retrieve bottles for elderly family members. The rest of the party went without water until after the ceremony - on what was hot sunny day in late August.
During the reception, water access remained limited. A single water cooler was provided, which quickly ran out and did not appear to be refilled. A number of guests mentioned that they saw melted ice water from a bucket - used to chill alcohol bottles and not intended for drinking - being served into plastic cups. This raised serious hygiene concerns.
We also noticed inconsistencies in the signature cocktail, with noticeable variations in color and alcohol content. This suggested a lack of quality control in the bar service.
Lastly, boxes of unopened wine bottles were unexpectedly left behind after the catering team departed. We were told we’d only be charged for opened bottles, but the final invoice didn’t clarify whether these unopened bottles were included in the charges.
While the food quality and day-of professionalism were definite highlights, we were left somewhat disappointed due to the above issues - including being charged an unexpected $1000 above the quoted price. I emailed the company after the event to raise these concerns, and although they followed up with a phone call, they did not provide satisfactory explanations for what had happened. Regardless, I wanted to share my experience here so that others are aware of what we encountered.
