Had an absolutely amazing time at Sushi Mahana. The vibes were very intimate and calm, decor was amazing and the staff were absolutely warm and welcoming. We chose the imperial omakase course which consisted of 26 courses, but our favourite were the Wagyu Shabusuki, Hachibiki, and Anago.A huge thank you again to Chef Hiroshi and Chef Ghinn for the amazing food and thank you to everyone at Sushi Mahana for making the most memorable omakase experience! 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back again :)

WOW WOW WOW! What can I say…. I feel like I was transported into Japan for 2 hours with Sushi Mahana. Everyone from Chef Hiroshi to the owner Yuki, made us feel so welcomed from beginning to end.The seafood and flavour combinations were stellar and some of the seafood items like the freshwater eel and Hokkaido uni were better than the ones in Japan.Upon request they allow kimono rentals for men and women. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a TRUE authentic Japanese experience in Vancouver!

Best omakase in Vancouver. It’s a big statement to make but completely true and you must try it for yourself. I’ve eaten many omakases in Vancouver and Japan, and Sushi Mahana made me want to teleport back to Japan. The fish was very fresh, and the flavours and pairings were unique, nothing I’ve had before. I appreciate the variety of fish as it can get repetitive after eating at a few omakases. Chef Hiroshi explained this style is from his hometown Kyushu, not edomae style. Service was lovely and everyone was so sweet. Will be coming back again soon!

This place deserves way more recognition, by far the most intriguing omakase that is offered in Vancouver. Every piece is paired with the correct flavour notes that compliment the fish. They all have different seasonings and toppings that contribute to the overall experience. If you're sick and tired of edomae style, give this place a try, worth every penny for the type of menu this restaurant offers!

This was my first Omakase-style sushi experience and it did not disappoint! It made our typical western style sushi restaurant seem like McDonalds. I discovered that, when aged and prepared with thoughtfulness and care, I enjoy ALL varieties of raw fish (nor do I need to add soya sauce or wasabi). From the moment you set foot in this establishment it is apparent how much consideration has gone into every detail of the consumers experience. Well worth every penny and I look forward to returning for a special occasion and introducing it to others. So happy to have such an intimate and exclusive fine dining experience on the North Shore.

The establishment impresses with its favorable ambiance and attentive service, skillfully complemented by captivating lighting and decor that exude a palpable sense of sophistication. The visual elements play a substantial role in creating a distinguished atmosphere. Nevertheless, a noteworthy observation is the slightly loose consistency of the sushi rice. Considering the relatively high cost of $195+tax per person, there is a discernable expectation for the sushi to deliver an even more refined and exquisite taste, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience aligns seamlessly with the premium pricing.

Splendid evening, food was tasty through out. The prawn, cuttlefish and chutoro were the highlight! This was my second visit and a notch better than my first time and hope Hiroshi san will continue to up his game! The other guests were great and we all got along and made the night extra special! Will start saving up for a next visit.

Expect to be taken on a culinary adventure when dining at this fine establishment! Head chef Hoshiko and his team of chef Morris and sous chef Ghinn are like watching a beautiful dance being done in front of you as everyone knows their part in making some amazing sushi! From the front of house service to the ambiance and of course, the amazing omakase, I cannot put into words how amazing of a time I had here!

I booked this restaurant for my birthday as everything is really unexpected.First of all, my wife and I are the only customers for the whole dining, the atmosphere is quiet with the traditional Japanese music which is also their New Year. Second, I don’t expect I will receive a birthday gift from the team of Sushi Mahana. This restaurant is a omakase styled restaurant, only serve customers from reservation, no walk in.The hostess which is a pretty & polite traditional Japanese lady dressing in Nihon wafuku, the service of her is way above the average.Chef Hiroshi Hoshiko & Chef Ghinn are two experienced chefs which served us all night long with explaining everything from their menu, I feel grateful as they respect their customers very much.Their size of each nigiri is perfect for one bite which is very good for tasting every flavor from it, no wasabi and no soy sauce provide, therefore it will not ruin the taste of their creation. Each nigiri is being served just the perfect timing and you can experience by using chopsticks or fingers to taste, therefore they provide the cleaning material after using your fingers every time. The time went fast because we enjoyed this so much, they also surprise me by singing a birthday song and giving me a gift and also a birthday card, I love their caring for their customers.Overall, everything is above average as it’s hard to express, just feel their passion and love for what they have done, highly recommend this omakase restaurant.
