Had dinner with some out of town friends who were beyond impressed.
The snowy view from the resturant was breathtaking. The food, service, and ambience were first glass. We will be back.

We came for our 20th anniversary. We decided to dine there. The scenery is amazing. You get to see an panoramic view of Vancouver. The service was great. It is a bit on the slower end, but I consider this right for this kind of view. They have an excellent selection of BC wines. The food was amazing and the servers had a good knowledge about the food they are presenting. The food quality is great. However it is on the pricey edge
2 course meals and three course meals.

I thought the quality of the Dine out menu would be average. It was purely for the food scene. I lowered my expectations. The food was much better than expected. The sweets were very delicious. The soup as an appetizer and the fish as the main course were all really good. I booked a table for 7 o'clock and a window seat. There were not many people.

Mark took exceptional care of us, what great service. The only odd thing/ why it isn’t 5 stars is, we had a reservation for 1715. Showed for 1700, and were turned away/ asked to wait for 15 more min. Odd that 15 min makes a significant difference for a place that opens at 1700 (no table before), needing to wait.

So tonight’s experience made me write a google review for the first time. I love to appreciate any dining experience with my loved ones so I don’t love to criticize. But I guess you will never learn if i don’t.
I only had realistic expectations for the restaurant since not much information( chef, food) was available.
Service- worse than my go to Vietnamese noodle place. Didn’t check us in on time, no water or any attention for a while after being seated, and worst of all, no happy birthday??
They ask you twice when making a reservation and upon checking in. We even saw our next table being served dessert with a candle on it. I really don’t need to beg you to celebrate bd with our family but why do you even bother to ask??? Not only that, no one bothered to ask how our dinner was tonight. I had to ask for water twice. We couldn’t dress up since we did some snow activities but we were not the only ones bundled up in winter gear up in the mt.
We left feeling ignored and lil upset even.
Food-super salty and drenched in fat,oil,cream... The fish was the worst fine dining dish ever. A small piece of fish in a pool of non emulsified fatty sauce?soup? with nothing else on the plate to balance it out. Cioppino had low quality frozen seafood with canned like tomato sauce. Could almost taste Campbell. Dessert was just ok. Single dimensional sweetness.
It was cheap at $65 during dine out with the gondola ride up and down. Maybe it was meant to be a free dinner with the gondola ticket. Please do not call yourself a fine dining restaurant. I almost fell for it.

Absolutely lovely! The observatory restaurant at the top of Grouse mountain hosts a monthly six course vegan tasting menu for a very reasonable price. This is our second time going, and it was absolutely amazing! World class service, delicious and creative, food, pairings, and that lovely ski shall I atmosphere. Not to mention that truly stunning view. A world class experience!

Per the staff, we watched one of the top three sunsets up here at Altitudes Bistro. The Observatory has a spectacular new menu, excellent view and our server - Mark from Glasgow - full of wit and knowledge about the menu. Beautiful view up here!

A great place to rest after tiring snow activities! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. You can enjoy your meal while admiring the snowy view outside the window. The staff are humorous, friendly, and provide six-star service.

Went for their dineout menu. Really looked forward to it but was disappointed with service, portion sizes and taste. Was not even close to being full with the three course dine out menu. If you're a vegetarian then watch out cause the grilled cauliflower comprises of 6 florets of cauliflower with no significant starch to fill you up. It was laughably small and insignificant. This is crazy for $65. Even the steelhead trout option was tiny. It was almost appetizer sized and had no starch component. It was just poached fish with sauce.
We arrived on time for our reservation and had to wait around for 5 minutes for a host to show up and seat us. It was bizarre standing there with no idea what was going on. We were seated in a back corner of the room and did not even get to enjoy the view of Vancouver that the setting offers.
We spent almost $400 for 5 people and no one left satisfied. The desserts were tasty and saved the dinner but still not justified for the price and expectations.

One of the best views we’ve ever had at dinner! The food was great. We enjoyed our meal and the price of mountain admission being included in our reservation made the meal a great deal!

They made the duck quite nicely. Service is really good.
Visiting in winter for the mountain view is NOT recommended unless you ski there. The whole area around the restaurant is so dark that you can’t really see much the view.
Food is ok, but not too many choices available. They only have 1 page, 3 or 2 courses choices. But again food is ok. Don’t trust the menu photo posted on google review.

Restaurant was overall very fine. Three of us went - two enjoyed the view, service and food. One enjoyed the view and service . He is a vegetarian, and the vegetarian option was a joke - a few bits of cauliflower sprinkled round the plate. At those prices this is beyond a joke. The chef must surely be able to do better than this.
This is my favorite restaraunt on the North Shore. Delicious food, and a great atmosphere. I find a lot of restaraunts, even fancier ones, can tend to be a bit loud. This one is often a nice quiet space to enjoy a nice 3 course meal and a few glasses of wine. They also seem to source alot of foods and wines locally which is a nice touch.
Also very accessible by bus, reservations come with a free ticket on the gondola too, which is a great way to end the evening, looking over the city during the descent.
