We visited the Christmas market. Cute little cabins and free admission (as it should be!) was a plus. Looks like there were delicious food and drinks being offered but unfortunately, it was so crowded that we couldn't buy anything. Difficult to move around, even. With one kid and a tween, the experience was not very pleasant. We ended up eating diner in Gastown.
The scenery is beautiful and well maintained, with thoughtful and efficient management throughout the area. The environment is clean, organized, and pleasant, making it very comfortable to visit. During the winter season, there are real fire outdoor grills that add warmth and atmosphere, as well as complimentary ice skating on real ice, which is a wonderful experience. The area around the skating rink is bonkers tho! It is so crowded, I thought for sure we were all going to get something, and sure enough, by Christmas day we all had a cold.
Don't go here around Christmas if you don't want to have to shove your way through a crowd. It is not pleasant! The quay area was somewhat better. Either Vancouver needs more free family events or they need to start charging for everything now. Just way,...
