Server Maria is especially pleasant and good at her job! The place has amazingly good food including homemade pies. This restaurant (diner style) is rich in history, decorative, and has great service. All of this is well tied together by that server who is very competent and friendly!🙂 Sometimes tasty food is not enough.

A really unique brunch place that is tucked away and hidden. The food isn’t anything fancy, and I love that about it. Classic Canadian breakfast with really generous portions of protein. And apparently eggs are free-range, and the beef is organic

If you’re looking for a fancy brunch place, this is not it. But if you’re looking good quality food and a filling breakfast , this is a great place.

The decoration and art work is really cool & unique as it’s all indigenous -inspired.

I will be back! Thank you!

As a North Shore native, I have never been here during the "glory days". A reviewer below summed it up well and was almost identical to our experience. We came, were not greeted or really acknowledged. A fossil of a man pointed at a table and we basically just assumed that he was implying to sit there.

The menu is an ode to diner style food, with the dusty decor to match. It feels like you stepped back in time when you come in. The atmosphere (as mentioned) is dingy and gloomy.

A patty melt and burger were ordered. While they tout grass fed organic beef, that only goes so far when there is no soul, seasoning or love put into the food. The food was slapped together and served on a plate that was too small for the portion. There were not many fries and definitely less than half of an onion for onion rings.

Needless to say, the Tomahawk has been tried and no return is needed. There are many many other establishments in North Vancouver that have excellent food, pleasant service and a much more welcoming atmosphere.

This place is riding on the nostalgia of the old timers who have been coming here for 60 years but I don't think it will last past that.

It's just a pleasant moment when you're spending your time in such a warm, cozy local restaurant and enjoying ordering any kind of food that you’d like from its exciting menu. It will be more exciting when you find out that you are hosting in a 98 years old restaurant 😀... highly recommend it.... 👌

Had New York Steak Dinner. Perfect 10oz. If you go to other restaurants, it’s unlikely to get this portion at this price. Very reasonable price. Appreciate it. 10oz steak with mashed potato and sautéed vegetables definitely make a full stomach. Very satisfied.

i used to order here from work all the time. Quality was amazing. Something obviously changed... twice in a row i tried ordering, bad quality and no regard for the actually order or the notes. disapointing all around. probably wont order from here again tbh.

Have lived on the north shore for 25 years and thought we’d give this place a try for lunch today. Big Mistake! Waited over 5 minutes for the owner to acknowledge us and then point at a table for us to sit at where everyone was jammed into one section of the restaurant. The atmosphere is tired, dark and gloomy and cluttered with junk and there appeared to be only one waitress working. We were about to leave when she finally arrived to take our order.
The sandwiches were tasty but served on small plates with a very small portion of fries. I asked for multigrain bread but got white. The ketchup bottle is reused, refilled and the inside of the cap was nasty and blackened with old ketchup. I couldn’t get out of this place fast enough.

Always like this kitschy place indigenous theme diner apparently opened since 1926. Good diner food, hardy breakfast and staples like meatloaf and roasted turkey dinner. A must try place for all foodie. Just a heads up that although the place is clean it is older and does require some deep cleaning as it's filled with memorabilia. The forced air heating definitely needs service as it smell of mustiness.

It was my first time visiting this legendary & historic restaurant. Such a magical place. The decor was quite pleasing to the eyes.

I went with a gentleman who's been going there for nearly 50 years, and another who's gone a number of times in recent years. It was a bonus to be there with someone who'd been going there since childhood. He had some stories to tell about his many past visits.

I had the hearty Skookum Chief burger with fries, and it was super delicious and quite filling. The coffee was really good too. I was so full after the visit.

Had to pick up a souvenir rubber ducky on my way out.

I'll definitely be going back there. Highly recommended.
