We hosted a dinner last week at Kalvas for a work event and the experience was next level. The food was phenomenal and the service was even better. The waiter was attentive and quick, and provided great recommendations. We had our drinks to us within a minute or two each time! There was not a single complaint from any of our team members about their meal, drink or dessert. Will definitely add this to my list for future personal visits! Surf & Turf with the Filet pictured.

Amazing! We were a very last minute larger party & they had no issue accommodating us. Food & drinks were amazing. Our server Gavin was phenomenal, we had small kids at our table & he handled us with patience while also delivering amazing service.

Lovely high level dining experience. Beautiful log house ambiance with attentive and professional waiter.
Complimentary bread was a delicious focaccia sliced into 6 pieces with garlic butter and an olive oil/balsamic emulsion. Not a lot of bread for 3 people though.
Escargot was fantastic. The tray has spots for 6 escargot but they actually load it with extras. Comes with a thin slice of garlic bread good for soaking up the sauce.
Seafood Sampler was great. All the fish was delicious. Could use a little more sauce to mix with the rice though. The parsnips (I think that's what they were?) could have been cooked a little longer.
The cheesecake was big and rich. The berries are a nice touch. Could easily split it with 2 people.
Fantastic food, and an excellent place to go out for dinner. I'd highly recommend Kalvas to anyone. The steak was cooked to perfection, the seafood was fresh, tasty and seasoned perfectly. The best restaurant I've been to on Vancouver Island.

Hank and the staff were inviting, pleasant and informative. They knew the menu inside and out and communicated well. Wait staff were awesome and attentive to the needs of my table. Extremely personable and I loved the banter and chill interaction with everyone who served us. My dad and I had a fantastic time and we were able to relax after a stressful week. If l could give the food a 7/5 l would! Fantastic scallops, escargot portion was very generous and delicious, the crab cakes were one of the best l have ever had and the shrimp were tender and sweet. The chocolate mousse did not disappoint either. Had so much fun bantering with our server Gavin. This was the perfect meal. One of the highlights of our vacation to the Island.
