Very nice ambience
Clean food was really tasty
We visited Masala Hut on June 17, 2025, after finding it on Google and reading some decent reviews. We decided to try the chicken biryani and lamb biryani, but honestly, we were quite disappointed with the food. It didn’t have much flavor, and overall it just didn’t meet our expectations ,though we understand it’s a new place for us, so we didn’t want to be too harsh about the food.
What really pushed us to leave a review, though, was the service. When the biryani was brought out, it was served in a serving bowl, but we weren’t given any plates to eat from. We had to ask for them, and even then, the plates we got were really small, not ideal for eating biryani at all.
We also ordered chai at the end, and the way it was served felt pretty unprofessional. The server brought both cups in one hand, holding cups on two fingers and had sugar packets and spoons in the other , no tray, no presentation. It just gave off an untrained vibe.
Overall, the experience left us a bit disappointed. If the service and small details like this could be improved, it would definitely make a big difference. Hoping the team takes this as constructive feedback. Thanks.
Really good Indian Food. Lots of depth of flavour with fresh ingredients. $4.99 for rice though? That’s almost 1/3 the cost of a dish!
Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Definitely returning back.
What stood out most was the authenticity of the flavors. This wasn’t just “good Indian food”—this was exceptional, made with care, tradition, and a clear passion for quality. Even the presentation was top-notch, with each plate arriving looking as beautiful as it tasted.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so unbelievably bad I had to speak up. The food we picked up from this restaurant was a complete disaster. Nothing was edible — everything was either bland, or just outright inedible. To make things worse, the dal makhani we ordered wasn’t even included in the delivery.
I’ve eaten at many Indian restaurants before, and I can confidently say this was by far the worst food I’ve ever had. It tasted like it was made with zero care or effort. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend good money and not be able to eat a single thing from the order. This wasn’t just disappointing — it was infuriating.
I feel completely ripped off. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of better Indian restaurants out there. This one doesn’t even come close.
Absolutely awful. The tandoori chicken tikka I ordered was a complete disaster. If i wanted rubber with spice dust i could’ve chewed on a shoe.
Amazing flavours. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Tandoori was excellent.
Good indian restaurant, i really liked the tandoori chicken tikka & the onions bhaji, had a great meal !
Unsafe for kids and family
Great Indian food at reasonable price. Service is always friendly. A go to when In Parksville.

Had take out from this restaurant Friday night. Food was excellent. We had the Coconut Chicken, Lqmb Jalfrezi & Aloo Mutter. Very flavourful and the Garlic Naan was fantastic. This is going to be our new local Indian restaurant. Easy parking too. Try them out.

Food is not tasty ..lamb with potatoes 😂😂
This was a delicious meal. Beware if you use their website to order as it automatically added a tip. I didn’t notice this and was not expecting it, so I tipped when I picked up and paid for my order. This led to a double tip.
