A Delightful Evening at Samurai Sushi

I had the pleasure of enjoying dinner at Samurai Sushi, and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious—every piece of sushi was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. Their menu offered a great variety, and everything we ordered exceeded our expectations.

The staff were so friendly and attentive, always making sure we were well taken care of. It truly made the atmosphere feel warm and inviting.

The restaurant itself was cozy and beautifully decorated, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing dinner.

I left feeling so happy and satisfied. If you're looking for an amazing sushi spot, I can't recommend Samurai Sushi enough. I'll definitely be back soon!

Amazing Dining Experience at Samurai Sushi in Parksville!!

I recently visited Samurai Sushi, and it was truly an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every part of our meal was perfect.

The sushi was absolutely fresh and beautifully presented. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were of the highest quality. Their specialty rolls were creative and delicious, and the nigiri practically melted in my mouth.

The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience—comfortable, clean, and with a nice balance of tradition and modernity.

I highly recommend Samurai Sushi to anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine. I will definitely be coming back for more!

My Daughters and I Love this place!
Super fast, friendly service and consistently Excellent Quality. Best place in Parksville. Too brightly lit for a romantic encounter though, Sushi Ichi is more conducive to that kind of sit-down experience

The food was great. At least it was the best food out of 3 restaurants we tried while we visited for the game last week. The portion vs price was fair, and it's fresh as well,. especially the sashimi I ordered for my bento box. Kids like their rolls, and they are delicious too. The yakisoba was just so so . Overall it passed our expectations in the small town Parkaville.

This place is amazing! We stopped in 20 minutes to close and they were happy to take our orders to go! The sushi was phenomenal. Alaska rolls are a must try! Easily my new favorite.

Ok went here today for the first time and it was very good! Tea, miso, tempura and sushi. Prices were the best I’ve seen in a few years I ate till I was stuffed and in pain. Totally worth it! Everything was super good next time in in the area and want sushi I am coming here!

Honest to goodness, I don't understand the positive reviews for this particular Japanese restaurant. I've given the multiple chances, and EVERY time the food is a huge let down. Most recently, the Tonkatsu Don buri bowl was an absolute DISGRACE to the name. A dry flat thin pork cutlet (that tasted faintly of freezer burn) was saturated with a honey-sweet sauce on dry rice. Where's the egg? Spring onion? Where's the actual AUTHENTIC sauce that's supposed to be on there? And why is it so sickly-sweet that I feel nauseous after eating less than a third of it?
That was just the latest experience, but there have been others. The point is, there are three Japanese restaurants in a row on that street, and this is EASILY the worst of the three by far, even though the interior is quite pleasing. So if you're all about how a place looks, I guess this is the one to go to. But for actual good Japanese food, I don't know what the heck they're going for here! Certainly not the food as it exists in Japan, that's for sure!
**EDITED TO ADD** - this place seems to have a weird obsession with cabbage. So expect to find cabbage in places that you really normally wouldn't in actual authentic Japanese food. Also, miso soup - one of the most basic and treasured staples of the Japanese diet - should never be served as just PLAIN broth. I mean come on, I can buy a decent instant miso at an import grocery store and it would be better than what you keep serving. No wakame? No tofu? No spring onion? Blech!!

We were here once in the summer and it was tasty. Service was mediocre as it was a new server in training. And she had to be reminded several times about things and still never got it quite right. Went again today for dinner and it was disappointing. Prawn tempura was soggy and tepid. We ordered 5 piece and they brought 10 piece. Not a big deal, except we couldn't flag the server down to tell her. Then the rolls came and they were 99% crab meat and poorly made. We complained about the dynamite roll in particular as my wife doesn't like/wasn't expecting basically a California roll. No efforts made by the restaurant to make it right. And yup, we were charged for the 10 piece tempura. Likely won't be back...

Super annoyed with this business. Sign says open until 8pm. Went in at 7:49pm, said I knew they were closing soon so could I place an order to go (for 1 person). I was told ‘I’m sorry but we stop taking any orders at 7:45pm. Total BS business move. So note that the hours are wrong on this business, you can not get anything to go after 7:45PM and they told me they will not serve any dine-in customers after 7:30PM. Bottom line is that this business IS NOT open until 8pm

I don’t trust farm salmon to be safe to eat raw but that is what they serve. Disappointing.

Friendly staff but the sushi did not look delicate and the ramen was clumpy and chewy and the miso soup not flavoursome.
