Driftwood Great Chinese Buffet Parksville

This place has been closed since March 12th due to health inspection violations. Unfortunately this is the town's only Chinese restaurant without counting Quality Foods. The food here is mediocre but not worth $30 for the dinner buffet.

Update: Thank you for your reply. I will give you another try when you reopen after the repairs. Hopefully it will live up to the $30 price.

Very good food and nice people

Hands down one of if not the best. Chinese buffet experiences i have ever had. Staff was always very friendly the food was always fresh and amazingly prepared. Very sad it's not currently open because I am dying to go again.

Found most of the food was over cooked and we were there at 6pm, prime time

Went for the Chinese New Year buffet on a Sunday night. Had reservations, and the place was full. Full house meant they kept refilling the dishes as they ran out so food was generally fresh and hot. Thought it was good value for the price - typical North American style Chinese food buffet - had all the choices I liked. Service around the tables was good, the servers worked hard with the number of people, but kept the tables cleared. Would go again for Chinese New Year

They must use alot of Poor quality frozen food . Definitely one of the worst Chinese food restaurants

Amazing service, friendly, quick, and funny. Exactly what you'd expect for western Chinese food. Portions are generous and the Shanghai noodles are particularly good!

Went at 5pm when they opened all the food was fresh filled up and very good. The wonton soup was a little bland the beef short ribs and ginger beef were tough but all in all our group really enjoyed ourselves
There were a few little children running barefoot throughout the main are of the buffet which made it difficult for my husband with a cane to get his own food and dangerous for both people with mobility issues and for the children.

The Servers are very friendly. The food is comparable to other similar places. Could use a fresh coat of paint.

We went for dinner buffet at 6:30 and almost half of the bins at the buffet were empty. The restaurant closes at 8 and from at least the time of our arrival nothing was added to the buffet. I paid $30 for one plate of food, we left after they 'restocked' literally 2 spring rolls and a handful of chicken wings for multiple tables of people eating there. The server was nice I will give her that. Pretty disappointed, won't return.

We have not been in for a while. Dissatisfied last time however this time food was hot and great . Would be great if servers asked if you’re a senior. Charged $29.95 for both of us . And we’re both over 65 didn’t notice until after we left .

We have got take out from here before but this time something was wrong, the prawns were half the size from last time and over cooked and dry? rest of our order was amazing tho just wish that they could have done better on the prawns I so much look forward to them.
