One of the long standing restaurants in Peachland. The restaurant compound is actually quite large with lots of outdoor patio space.
As expected with German fare, the food is quite filling. The Gasthaus Pan ($36) comes with Leberkase schnitzel, spatzle and mushroom cream gravy. The thing I liked the most in this dish was the ham covered in gravy. The schnitzel was a bit hard and I've had better back in Vancouver.
The Stuffed Mushrooms ($18) had a ton of cheese and was super filling.
Ambiance was a bit rustic. The inside could use air conditioning and service was a bit sparse.

We booked a reservation at the Gasthouse over a week ago for our anniversary trip and received a confirmation email. When we called to verify, the manager told us they “don’t accept reservations during this time” and flat-out refused to honor it — even after reading the confirmation himself.
Instead of apologizing or fixing their mistake, he said he’d just “scold” the staff member who confirmed it. That’s not professionalism, that’s dismissive and disrespectful. A reputable restaurant should honor its commitments — especially to guests traveling for a special occasion. Clearly, this place doesn’t value its customers.

This wasn’t our first time dining here, and it definitely won’t be the last. We absolutely love this place! The food has more of a European touch, almost German-style, which makes it stand out in the best way. When you’re tired of the usual steaks and burgers, this is the perfect spot — delicious, pretty healthy, and just simply amazing. On top of that, the lake view and the surrounding nature make the whole experience feel extravagant and beautiful. Always a pleasure to come back, and we’ll continue to recommend it to everyone! 🌿🍴✨

Such a gorgeous place near the water! The vibes were so cool and very German. Appetizer of Apple Rösti was so yummy and a good value! We got the Pork Hock as well and thank goodness we decided to share cuz it was MASSIVE and the crispy skin on the outside was divine. The gravy was also amazing, along with the red cabbage. Honestly super pleased with the overall experience and quality of food.
As a German girl...this was THE best goulash I've ever had!...hands down!..relish! Will return from Ontario to have again!

I had such a wonderful experience at Gasthaus on the Lake! The atmosphere was so welcoming and the antiques throughout the restaurant are incredible. The service here was amazing and our server did an excellent job and made the evening feel extra special. The highlight for me was definitely the pizza and the apple strudel- it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back, and I couldn’t recommend this place more for anyone visiting Peachland or looking for a great dining spot in the Okanagan!!
