C Market Coffee (Pitt Meadows)

We were in Maple Ridge picking up organic blueberries and needed a coffee and rest stop before the long drive home. Google Maps took us to C Market Coffee. We had lunch already and wasn't really looking for food. Even so, most of the items in the baked goods display disappointingly contains egg – not suitable for me. Naturally, when I saw the first vegan item on the menu, I was so excited I couldn't stop myself from ordered it – the Plant Power Club with cashew Vegan sauce and purple Yam Vegan Bread. Of course, that was for hungry people looking for lunch. Finish it I didn't. The purple yam bread wasn't distinctly purple yam flavoured and too white-bread-empty-calorie for me to contemplate finishing the slices. My partner ordered the avocado toast and it was so lightly toasted that it might as well not be toasted. We would have preferred more substantial and healthier whole grain sourdough bread. The space was an industrial caverness that can easily house a second story loft. The interior is modern and restful.

The best, coziest coffee spot in the whole town! Great coffee, great food, and most of all, great people. The employees are so friendly and knowledgeable with some fantastic coffee making skills. One employee who specifically comes to mind is Leslie. She was so smiley and friendly and most of all… made some darn good coffee! Will be coming here again!! And I hope that sweet lookin Leslie is on shift heheh.

Looking for a new cafe experience in the area, we decided to Google-Map-it, and see what was new in the area… The photos of the pastry counter and funny reviews about the handsome movie star owner convinced me give this a try. I enjoyed our lemon cake - lemony but not too sweet, with non-sweetened matcha latte, and my partner had a mocha. Staff were friendly and we liked the industrial-vibe. We’ll be back to check out more cakes and hope to get a glimpse of the owner. 💜

The breakfast sandwich and the Carrot cake were tasty. The Three cheeses toast with honey didn't blend that well together for some reason. On the coffee side, the espresso was great but, unfortunately, no pour overs :/

The matcha quality was disappointing — the color was dull instead of bright green, it was overly sweet, and I could barely taste the matcha flavor. It would be great if you could improve the quality of the matcha powder you use.
