A local gem. Wow blown away how cute this place is and food was perfect. I had corned beef hash and wouldn’t change a thing. My wife has the Greek wrap and loved it.

We were in Port Alberni for a couple of days and found this restaurant. A little bit of Australia, great ambience. We had breakfast here twice and the food was delicious and lots of it. The staff were friendly but competent. We will make this a must stop whenever we are in Port Alberni next..

While driving in the back woods we heard this ad for a restaurant, called Boomarang Café, featuring foods from the outback located in Port Alberni. We would be driving through town at dinner time so we gave it a shot. Great menu with lots of variety and interesting nods to foods I imagine you WOULD find in Australia. One of the owners spend a good chunk of his life there, so I feel it's gotta be authentic. I opted for the Vegimite cheese Sanga, and my husband dove right into the kangaroo burger. Both were good choices, although I wouldn't recommend that sandwhich if you have trouble with salt. It was pretty salty. The salad was the best choice to counteract that. The burger was delicious, and you could tell it wasn't beef, in a good way. The staff were very friendly and assured us they were going to have even more on the menu in the future which I thought was amazing considering it was already pretty extensive. They also had a wide variety of drink options including many locally produced beers. (We stuck with water. But the other options were endless.)

Service really sucks. Food is decent, found it a little on the bland side. Servers and owner/manager are rude and unfriendly. Left me waiting for a long time while they waited on other customers - some who came in after me. The ladies kept pushing the young gentleman server to service me instead of being helpful themselves. Owner just stood there, no smile or friendly greeting. Would not eat here again.
Words won’t do this place justice. I had the best omelette I have ever had in my life. My husband said the waffle may be the e best one he’s ever had too. The portions are massive. Prices are phenomenal. So worth every penny. Also very celiac aware. Delicious GF bread. And I ate this meal with confidence. Thank you so much Boomerangs!!!

Busy place, good food and great service. I only went 4 stars on food because I ordered stake and eggs and well the steak was a bad cut, burnt on the outside, raw on one half and we'll done on the other.. couldn't even cut it with a stake knife. However the staff were pleasant and dealt with it accordingly.. The Beef Dip my wife ordered was amazing and the rest of my breakfast was prettt good!

Absolutely great experience came in with a couple of friends and met the owner, hes so nice and welcoming, his staff has always been inviting everytime i went. The crepes were delicious and the Italian soda is totally worth it :) such a great and welcoming place for everyone, totally recommend.
Also they have plenty of options for vegan, dairy free and gluten free!
