We were in Port Alberni for a couple of days and found this restaurant. A little bit of Australia, great ambience. We had breakfast here twice and the food was delicious and lots of it. The staff were friendly but competent. We will make this a must stop whenever we are in Port Alberni next..
While driving in the back woods we heard this ad for a restaurant, called Boomarang Café, featuring foods from the outback located in Port Alberni. We would be driving through town at dinner time so we gave it a shot.
Great menu with lots of variety and interesting nods to foods I imagine you WOULD find in Australia. One of the owners spend a good chunk of his life there, so I feel it's gotta be authentic.

Service really sucks.
Food is decent, found it a little on the bland side. Servers and owner/manager are rude and unfriendly. Left me waiting for a long time while they waited on other customers - some who came in after me. The ladies kept pushing the young gentleman server to service me instead of being helpful themselves. Owner just stood there, no smile or friendly greeting.
Would not eat here again.
