What a fantastic place to grab a bite. The service was awesome from a smiling young lady! The food was tasty and fast (not too fast - it was cooked not heated). We will definitely stop here in future on the way to/from Tofino.

A must visit, burgers are delicious, service was fantastic and fast! Got greeted with a smile every time! Super excellent place for fast food! Only small complaint, onion rings were over fried, and was a bit greasy! Very small complaint!! Bravo to the staff and place!!!! 4 1/2 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2🌟

Today, my wife, daughter, and I had our very first visit to J & L Drive-In in Port Alberni, and what an incredible experience it was! From the moment we pulled up, the service was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive—all the way to our car window. It’s clear that customer experience is a top priority here.
We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, and chicken strips with fries for my wife and daughter. Every bite was absolutely delicious—the food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and the attention to detail really shows.
If you’re looking for a classic drive-in experience with top-notch service and mouthwatering food, J & L Drive-In is the place to go. We will definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone we know!

Just left J&L after placing an order for a large poutine, a JL special burger and large onion rings and a large strawberry shake and chicken strips root beer. Food was Burnt tasting. What's happened to this once iconic drive in? It' Tastes nothing like it did 45 years ago. Absolutely nothing.

Great food and atmosphere. The place was packed and we still had our food in less than 15 minutes. Good vegetarian options, had a veggie burger and beyond burger as well. Really good battered fries!
