Old school bakery
Friendly staff
Donuts were good and fresh
I wouldn't buy the eclairs, they didn't taste fresh at all and were stale.

Picked up 3 dozen donuts for work and ended up throwing more than 24 out as they tasted as if they were cooked in rancid oil. I don't know why this place was recommended other than as a prank

This was a great find for a new local business to support. The staff were friendly and made great recommendations. Everything was delicious and my office loved the goodies I brought in. I would absolutely go here again and will recommend them to others.

Years ago, this used to be my happy place every Saturday. My favourites were the Portuguese tarts, the rustic corn bread loaf, donuts, and the wide selection of deli meats. The ambience in general was great, and I enjoyed interacting with all the workers, who were the same for years.

Unfortunately, I barely go there anymore, as things are very different now. Their Portuguese tarts are almost half the size of what they used to be; the assortment of deli meats has been reduced significantly, and they no longer make the corn bread. Except for one lady, I don't recognize anybody anymore.

I also find the tip prompt on the machine extremely awkward; it's always a moment I dread because I don't agree with tipping at retail shops, but at the same time I feel judged for not tipping.

Lastly, I wish they would decrease the amount of sugar they use in their natas and baked products — I find it extremely high, though this might have always been the case.

I hope they take all the reviews constructively, especially from people who were loyal customers for many years.

Found this deli while travelling. Great home made sandwiches and pastry treats, warm service, at a very fair price.

We use this bakery regularly for our work events, and they never disappoint! We've ordered dessert platters, and there are never leftovers; everyone loves the variety. Their cakes are incredible; we've ordered huge sheet cakes for large parties and even smaller cakes for personal events, and everyone raved about the cakes and asked where they came from. They are always beautifully decorated, always fresh, and reasonably priced. The bunwich platters are a big hit every time, with generous portions and great variety. And the apple fritters? Hands down the best I’ve had in a long time, possibly ever! Friendly service, consistent quality, and local. We love supporting PoCo businesses and the European Bakery makes it easy! Highly recommend!

The donuts are better than Tim Hortons and taste homemade. They are tasty but not super spectacular. It’s overall an average homemade donut but a good treat and hits the spot for a quick donut craving. Would recommend the strawberry jelly filled one. The Boston cream one is also not bad but could use more chocolate.

When this place was owned by the elderly lady, it was great. The bread was fresh, and the sandwiches were so tasty! I'm not find that under the new ownership. My bread was dry and broke apart while trying to eat the sandwich I ordered. I found the staff was generally unfriendly. I paid approx 11.00 dollars for my sandwich and drink. It wasn't worth it. I'm sure their pastries and baked goods are still good. I won't be back.

I’m so happy I stumbled upon this lovely bakery while on my breaks at work. They have beautiful fresh bread, buns, pastries etc. truly something for everyone. Their fresh ciabatta loaf is absolutely delicious and the ladies at the front are always so kind, helpful, patient.

I went here for decades and loved it when old owners had it. But why change so much recipes if it worked before? This was one of the only remaining old fashioned bakeries that you can get certain items. But I've now gone at least half a dozen times this year and each time has been more disappointing than the last.

My favorite items such as the Vanilla slice, was smaller, and soooo dry. The custard filling used to ooze out when you cut it in half. Now, there is literally nothing and I can break it in half with my fingers with zero mess. There is dry icing (glaz)on the top layer spead in a very thin layer. Its so thin it's translucent and doesn't even go to the edges or corner. It was so disappointing and terrible. Dry and crumbly.

The donuts; which used to be worth lining up for, have also deteriorated. Also dry and the donut itself is legit half the size of the donuts they used to have. The filling was firm and the donuts was stale and dry.

There are many more items that I used to love that I now hate too but don't want to bother typing anymore. Sadly, it's a wrap for me. I won't be back
