Updated: I have been back with the kids and it was a much better experience. The servers were different and they were very polite and fast! They still don’t warn you about the syrup on the kids pancakes but I remember based on my experience. I’ve increased my star rating because we have enjoyed our food and service there after going back a few more times. Thanks!

It was my first time at this restaurant. I took my little kids here for brunch. My kids are 3 and 1. It was just myself and my kids and I read they have a nice kids menu option.

The server sat us down by the door and she was considerate to close the door that was left open since the little ones were there with me.

I ordered the kids waffle for my 3 year old and kids pancake for my 1 year old. The menu did not specify anything about the meal other than you pick either pancake or waffle, 1 egg, 1 meat option.

I also ordered a classic breakfast myself which was fantastic.

So the server took my order and left. She only asked what kind of toast I wanted. When the kids meals arrived they were soaked in quite a bit of maple syrup. Now I didn’t even think to ask for syrup on the side or no syrup. There was nothing on the menu that said syrup will be poured on by the kitchen. And the server didn’t ask me if my kids were okay with syrup.

So I scraped/poured off what I could from my 3 year old’s waffle and he started eating. My 1 year old pancake was soaked in syrup so I didn’t give that to her. I told the server when she came that I didn’t know there was going to be syrup on the kids meals and her response was, “anywhere you go syrup comes on pancakes and waffles.” I said usually in other restaurants syrup is on the table and you can pour it yourself. I also said it’s not written on the menu anywhere. Her response was just “No”.

So I ordered another kids pancake breakfast with no syrup for my 1 year old.

At the end the kids were happy and well fed and I enjoyed my meal.

When I got the bill I was charged for the extra kids meal.

She didn’t offer to just remake the pancake with no syrup and when I told her my 1 year old can’t eat this much syrup she seemed like she really didn’t care and that it was my problem. So she kind of just stood there and I ordered another pancake kids meal. So now I have all this extra food that I had to pay for that I didn’t want.

Sad to say, it was my first visit and I was very disappointed with the older lady server. It’s her fault for not clarifying there is syrup (a lot of syrup) on the kids meals and the restaurant’s fault for not putting “served with syrup on top” in the kids menu. If it has said it on the menu or she asked and I messed up I would expect to pay for an extra meal. But I don’t think I should have had to pay for the extra kids meal, given the circumstance. I didn’t appreciate the lady server’s lack of understanding. It was my first time out with the kids by myself and it’s a lot to juggle which went really well, I just did not leave feeling happy because the server made me feel like it was my fault. There was no sympathy that I was there by myself with 2 little kids and she could have been more understanding.

Be aware - the kids meals have a lot of syrup on them and you have to remember yourself to ask for no syrup or have it on the side. You won’t be asked and it’s not on the menu.

Went with friends for Brunch after seeing as TikTok recommendations ! They offer a cozy ambiance with delicious savoury food & dast service ! I ordered the chicken waffle & they delivered something above my expectations! Great portions & delicious ! I highly recommend !

First time to Jimmy’s Lunch Box and we were very positively surprised. The breakfast menu is extensive with some really good combinations. Portion sizes are generous and freshly cooked to order. The food was hot, well presented and very tasty. Service was super friendly and very attentive. Cute little place with a really fun vibe and looks like it is run very professionally. Well done 👍 we will be back.

Food and service was incredible! They made an exception for a food modification for us which we were incredibly grateful for. My friend and I's first time here and we left happy and full.
Bulgogi Benny with grilled onions and some cabbage? Genius and the hollandaise was good. Chicken and waffles was amazing. Potatoes were 👌

Went to this restaurant because of the reviews but was pretty disappointed in the food. From the pictures it looks like food is well presented so the food must be vibrant and fresh but unfortunately, it is a greasy spoon in disguise. You can actually tell by how fried everything looks in the pictures. Blame me, I’ve been to all the Jimmy’s Place, Jimmy’s Grill and Jimmy’s whatever greasy spoons so I should have known. Don’t get me wrong, I used to love these types of restaurants but there was an understanding that it was what it was. No fancy topping presentation, just good old oily, dry fried hash browns and eggs that could slide down the road faster than a car and at least a cup of fruits. So if you’re aware that this is just that, but instead of a cup of fruits it’s half a strawberry, then it’s a solid 3 stars. Prices are reasonable, service was good but the place is very busy and because of the constant frying of everything and lack of ventilation, the inside is so hot, which is a telltale sign of a greasy spoon joint, the front door is kept open so wear pants.

Cute little brunch place. Food was tasty with good portions and tasted very fresh. They also had a wall with little toys kids can play with which was nice for my family. Definitely recommend.

Amazing portion for the price, but the real winner the quality of the food. Everything was made with so much heart you can taste it! Great service and lovely cozy atmosphere!
