Tasty Honkin Donairs

I've been coming to this spot for over 12 years, back when the original owners ran it near the courthouse. The donairs used to be excellent, and it was always my go-to when in the area. Unfortunately, my recent visit under the new ownership was disappointing. I ordered a super beef donair, and not only was the portion surprisingly small—barely enough to pass for a regular—the overall quality just wasn’t there.

It’s clear the new team is still learning, and I genuinely hope they take the time to understand that many of their customers are long-time regulars who’ve come to expect a certain standard. On top of that, the food didn’t sit well with me afterward, which has never happened before.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt this was necessary. I really hope the new owners take feedback seriously and work toward bringing this place back to the level it used to be.

The service was good, and the cashier girl was friendly. However, the food did not meet expectations. I ordered the beef plate, but the rice was sticky, more like Asian-style rice, and the salad portion was excessive.and it was definitely over priced.

Sorry, they seem like nice people, but not only did my chicken donair not taste good, but I didn’t like it at all and didn’t care to eat it. And that’s a rare thing for me. Didn’t like the flavour at all.

this place was a let down. very poor cleanliness and over priced for what you get. they stuff there donair with basically just lettuce and very very little of everything else and the meat. i would not recommend this place.

i would say depends on who you get. the service is inconsistent. DONT GET THE LADY

Nothing bad to say about this establishment all all. Food is great. Portions are generous and the husband and wife team are always very nice and appreciative of your business. I fully support them and recommend you check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

Have been coming here for the past nine years after hearing about the donairs from a co-worker. Amazing service and even better donairs. Will often take the Lougheed Hwy to/from Vancouver rather than Hwy 1 just to stop in here.

I thought this was an authentic Lebanese Donair place but it was not sadly. I asked for no onions but both wraps were full of onions. I agree with others that the owners are lovely and friendly but that said, the taste of the chicken was off and had way way way too much cinnamon.
