It is really busy tonight since there are a parade in the downtown.
They can't manage too many customers at the same time.
It takes a long wait for your coffee.
The seating area is big and comfortable.
The high light is one senior gentleman is playing the piano for all.
Thank you for his good work.

The first time I came here, a customer took my drink by accident, so they had to remake my drink. I saw how the owner manage this situation and treated his employee badly on the mishap. It wasn't the employees fault.
I came back here today to give it a second attempt.
A women took my order. I ordered a sugar free hazelnut latte. I went to put my bag down on a table and took out my laptop. I had planned to work there for about 45 minutes while I was waiting to get my dog groomed around the corner. The owner (not the women that took my order) asks if I want a mocha. I approach the counter and I see that he had made a mocha instead. I said no I do not want a mocha. He then remakes my drink. He was friendly and was conversing with me. I walked away for a moment and come back to see him pour the mocha into my drink, calls out SF Hazelnut latte and puts it on the counter for me to pick up.
Immediately I was thinking, what the heck, how is this a SF Hazelnut latte, I just saw you pour the mocha into my drink. Visually, it didn't look like it either. It looked bubbly and brown. I was the only person in the cafe so it wasn't for anyone else.
I gave the drink a shot anyway and it was awful. It was overly sweet, warm, not hot, and it didn't even taste like a mocha. I was processing on what I should do. I didn't call him out, but just left the drink on the table and left.
I understand he doesn't want to waste his mocha but pouring it into my drink in front of me doesn't sound like a great business owner that cares about their customers rather than their bottom line. Or cares about loyalty or retention of his customers because I will not be coming back.

Not a coffee person to provide a fair review of its quality of coffee.
The settings is pleasant and spacy. There are three groups of people celebrating birthday on a Friday morning. Birthday songs were played for them. No sure if there are some offers in relation to the birthdays.

Cozy. Friendly, relaxed. Is a bit humid/stuffy when crowded.
The croissant here is flaky, and well laminated -- better than the bakery down the road.

Worst service ever, if they can’t handle busy time then they shouldn’t open. Never go back 👎🏻

Just been here today. I bought latte machiato which tastes good, a muffins and scone which taste horrible. They crumbled easily and do seem needing more baking time. If you are here, just buy the beverages and avoid the food.

Lovely little family coffee shop.
Ordered a medium iced coffee. It was 7.19!!Are you serious lol that’s more expensive than almost everywhere. Perhaps prices need to be adjusted.
Great location in Port Coquitlam. Easy parking and transit access. Friendly staff and good service.

This might be a nice place to go during quiet hours, but the heavens help you if it's busy.
They are massively unprepared for higher traffic, the man taking orders is very difficult to understand, and if you question them when they get an order wrong you get attitude. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere.

I never thought I’d be writing a review, but my experience at Waves Coffee House - Shaughnessy Port Coquitlam was so horrendous that I felt it was necessary to share.
I stopped by to grab a coffee and specifically asked for a small size of drip coffee in a medium cup, as I wanted extra room for milk. When I received my drink, it was served in a small cup. I politely asked if I could have it transferred to a medium cup, thinking they had only measured the coffee. I was more than willing to pay for the difference, as I understand the costs associated with running a business.
However, the staff reacted in a way that was completely uncalled for, insisting that I should pay for the cup size. I have no problem paying extra when it’s warranted, but I found it frustrating that they assumed I was trying to get something for free. In my experience at other coffee shops like Starbucks, Blenz, and JJ Beans, I’ve never been charged extra for a larger cup when I’m already paying for the coffee.
To make matters worse, the cashier, Fred, began speaking about me in Farsi, unaware that I understood the language. When I responded in Farsi, he became visibly embarrassed. I reminded him that respect is crucial in customer service and that I wasn’t looking for anything for free.
After realizing his mistake, Fred offered me a free coffee, but I declined. I simply wanted a refund for the poor service I received.
I will never return to this coffee shop, and I will make sure to share my experience with friends and family to prevent them from facing the same treatment.

A great performance on the piano that was truly impressive, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the drinks were great, had an amazing time here!
Ordered a coco berry matcha to go, and the older gentleman who took the order just forgot about it. He said he would call me when it’s ready and 10 mins later - nothing. I had to ask the lady who was making the drinks if my order was ready and they looked clueless. She then went through the order history and realized I wasn’t served. When I finally did get that drink, it was terrible. The matcha was watery and the berry puree just overpowered everything.
I’m a waves girl to the very end but this one was honestly fantastic! apparently they have live music on fridays which admittedly I didn’t catch but the manager(?) was personable and chatty. Always love waves and this one was a great one!
