We had 2 bites and ended up throwing everything out...what a waste of $50. We wanted the deep fried wontons & after being told on the phone there was no mushrooms or seafood in anything we ordered, we show up to pick up our order and he says he didn't make us the deep fried wontons as there's mushrooms in them....out of my 43 years on this planet I've never heard of mushrooms in wontons before (but maybe I'm mistaken). The chicken fried rice was shredded chicken (dark & white) on top of white rice. No vegetables, no seasoning. The chicken chow mein was ichiban noodles with again shredded chicken on top..no seasoning, no vegetables. The sweet & sour chicken balls were batter with barely any chicken. The only decent thing was the steamed rice. If I could give 0 stars, I would! The Chinese food at the IGA is way better!

My honey has been eating here for 20 years and I eat at M&Y’s at least once a month if not more for a year. I have toured the whole kitchen and love dining in and take out. Old school BC style small town Chinese Canadian food with sassy old guy service in a dimly lit space… retro vibes. We always get soup, fried rice, chow mein, egg foo young, sweet & sour, chicken cashew and tomato prawns. The fries & burger are awesome too my kid enjoys. The prices are good! I have food allergies and bad digestion my partner is a vegetarian and we have a bunch of kids and family- we enjoy our food here and proud of this longest running local family business in Port McNeill!! Thanks for the great service Y :) we had a little photo shoot of our take out feast
Vegetarian options: Lots! Spring rolls, soup, noodle and rice dishes and fries plus more

Only 1 star cause I can’t give it zero. Literally the worst food I’ve ever tried and thrown out in my life. What a waste of money. Got home. Tried it. Nasty. Even tried frying the noodles with VH and hot sauce to see if it could be edible and still threw it out ?
Terrible food but even worse service. The owner/host was so rude. How are they still in business?

If you make conscious decision, and stay away from the deep fried/ battered dishes you will have success.
Parking: 10 + parking spots
Wheelchair accessibility: Concrete ramp, but parking lot has moderated slope away from the door.

I don't like it
Simply horrible
I love this restaurant. I avoid the shrimp since it really tastes like a rubber chicken was thrown in a microwave and then deep fried, but everything else is delicious! Not expensive, either. One time, I made a large order and forgot to pick it up until 20 min after they'd closed. I rushed downtown, and he still let me in to pick it up. The owner is a bit cranky, but I know he's a good guy. Try the ginger beef! It's my fav!
