Went in for brunch, We got our food and drinks quick!. They had some really good souvenirs including glassware. For lunch I would recommend coming here over the pub

Cute store, best pumpkin spice lattes! But no soup :(

A welcome stop after exploring the tide pools at Botanical Beach.
Best chicken pesto sandwich I've had and delicious specialty coffees. Very busy with hikers doing the West Coast and Juan de Fuca trails but the staff keep everything moving smoothly. Hammocks on the outside patio and a nice little garden around the side.

The cafe it's self is lovely. However our groups experience with the barista was beyond atrocious. Our party of 6 had finished a beautiful hike and lunch and stopped to grab hot beverages for our trip home. The gentleman that took our orders was pleasant but the batista was down right rude. He aggressvely placed our drinks down, sometimes stating what it was, other times not. When a drink was put out and it was mentioned that the order wasn't correct, it went from bad to absolutely worse. The male batista began to argue. Making statements about the alternative milk having not been paid for. My friend apologized adding that it must have been missed. After several minutes the batista said he'd make another. My friend thanked him and reiterated her order, twice. The batista was clearly agitated, threw and empty beverage container towards a recycling container cursing under his breath. He remade the drink and when my friend reiterated her drink order to confirm it was correct he barked at her that he'd already told her the alternate milk was not paid for and angrily put the syrup flavor in that had also apparently not be paid. Watching all of this had me wondering why I had given a generous tip and the beginning of the interaction when this was the service we were receiving. Never again. I'll give a cash tip if the experience warrants it, afterwards! It really damped and otherwise great trip.

What a cozy little coastal cafe! Stopped in for a coffee and a danish after walking Sombrio for a while this morning. The pumpkin spice latte was great and warmed me up and the cherry and yogurt danish was excellent. Great coastal vibes.

Not baby friendly. I tried to change my baby’s diaper in their bathroom, no change table nor space to change on a counter. Only option was their floor. So I used our change mat outside on a picnic table and before I could even clean up or was finished changing my baby, the staff came out, handed us a sanitization bottle, and told us to clean the table and to not throw the diaper in their garbages. Mid change. They walked away almost disgusted. It was disheartening to be in a place that was not considerate or supportive of families just trying to exist.
On top of that, coffee was not good and the muffin was so dry and honestly lacked any flavour.
I never write reviews, but this was worth sharing and hopefully they will improve their options for families. And their muffins.

Actually really good coffee. Surprisingly one of the best I’ve had on the island. The male barista could be a little more welcoming but the woman at the cash was kind!

Coastal kitchen is a gem. The atmosphere is amazing and the beach and forest vibes made me feel at home. The food was fast/hot and delicious. 11/10 would recommend

It did the trick - spot was cute and food was OK but poor value at high prices. Lower marks mainly due to poor service: unwelcoming and icy. When asking questions nicely we were pointed to the boards or had clipped responses from the male worker. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice especially when people are paying a premium for your “just OK” food.
