Had the fish and chips yesterday. Fantastic!Likely the best I have ever had. My friend had a curry chicken dish and absolutely loved it. Service was prompt and friendly. Great atmosphere too.

I came here a few weeks ago on vacation from Montreal, the food was really good. We ended up getting the burgers and fries with poutine.
We really enjoyed ourselves, but if we had any complaints, it was that the back room had no televisions to watch the games and that the front door had an hour 40 minute wait. No I know waiting in line. Can’t really be controlled but when we came back after waiting an hour and 40 minutes multiple people got seated way before us who arrived 30 minutes after us..
I’m not sure what caused this, but it wasn’t pleasant to watch people that showed up minutes after you waited (an hour plus)get seated before you.
Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable evening. Everybody was there to watch the Toronto Blue Jays World Series game yet they didn’t play the commentary or volume from the game.

Really cool spot, Renfrew is beautiful! Surprisingly very little seafood options on the menu, no crab or anything? Isn’t fishing Renfrew’s main thing??

We came in for drinks on Sunday afternoon, sat at the bar and the food, conversation and service was so good we stayed for more drinks and food. Brad our bartender/ server / host gave us a map and helped us find a really nice route to Port Alberni. Thanks Brad. The food was fresh and hot ... great soup. Nice atmosphere.

Its not just the only pub in town, its the best pub. It has that classic, old timey Wild West feel that many bars attempt. The only spot in hundreds of miles that isnt faking it, as soon as you step inside you know it's the real deal. Back in the old days, during the hotel's formative years, dudes sitting at their barstools would pull 6 shooters on each other during arguments. Straight out of an Old Western movie if you ask me. Many decades ago a man was even shot during service and laid to bleed out on the sawdust floor. That was just how they did things back then!
But these days, things are different. They have a new, sturdy wooden floor and none of the patrons or staff carry firearms. Bryan, Brad, Kerry, Tana, Kamryn, Raffi, Louis, Pedro (and of course Mitch who holds down the fort) along with the rest of staff, will take care of you in a way that ushers the fresh coastal air with them right to your table. That old time feel is still there, but with a familiar feeling of comfort, safety and warmth during a likely torrential downpour. It feels like youve been here before. Likely with a .357 Smith & Wesson at your hip and ready for action!
Lovely modern wooden decor. New flooring, ocean views, and a superb poutine with gravy made in-house daily. There is also a pool table where im sure a few gentleman had to duke it out after a match or even go out back for a classic dual to the death! What a time it must have been in those days.
Fantastic food. Great tunes at a reasonable volume and they often have hockey or baseball playing to watch as you sit back and enjoy your delicious meal and several beverages. They really have come a long way since the horse drawn buggy days when your life was at stake and anything could happen! Hunker down for the evening and get the chowder or chicken dinner. You never know what the wild and lawless evening holds, but tonight you'll be safe and sound in a pub like like none other

We super enjoyed the food here, the atmosphere as well. The staff not so much. They seemed bored and indifferent. The menu was plopped on the table as they walked away when we were escorted there. No asking “How is your day” or “ Oh the front patio isn’t available BECAUSE we closed it for the fall”. Just a shrug and a no to us asking to sit there. Maybe they are burned out from summer who knows. Too bad as staff makse a difference.

My burger was exactly like one I had last September - at my kid’s elementary school welcome-back barbecue. This is such a great spot for a restaurant, but maybe they don’t have to make an effort due to lack of competition. Anyways, just don’t get the burger.

One of my favourite places to visit in BC! Took my family visiting from the east coast here for lunch after Botanical Beach; the service, the food, and the atmosphere were immaculate and we left on 10/10 high vibes. We were even able to include our little chihuahua in lunch as their patio is pet friendly. Our server Brad was personable, funny, and knowledgeable about the area. He kept us attended to consistently throughout our visit and ensured our glasses were never empty and bellies were happily full! The experience left us all with a beautiful core memory. Thank you! 🖤 xx
