A group of us went there pretty late and John, the chef and owner warmed us up with his humour and hospitality. He recommended family style to share all the food he recommended. A happy night! We have been recommending the place friends and colleagues ever since.

Fantastic service, excellent amazing food. 100% recommended.We were in town for a two days trip and discovered this restaurant. We got not disappointed. When you stay in town or just drive by you have to stop at Forest Bistro & Lounge for lunch or dinner.Unfortunately no photos because we ate to fast. I’ll come back for sure

By far the best place to eat in Powell River. Every dish goes above and beyond. Fries are a must have. Atmosphere is great. The owner is an absolute class act. Theatre acts and live music all week. If you’re coming to PR it would be a crime not to stop here.

We came here because it was close to the ferry. What a good choice!The place has a busy hum, with a play being rehearsed at one side and a swing dancing class at the other. The food was very creatively prepared. Yes, the lamb was falling off the bone and the chicken was delicious. But the big surprise was the careful and original way the side vegetables were prepared - a tomato & baby onion stew, shaved carrots that seemed like wide pasta, etc. With an awareness of gluten-free needs.

My wife and I reserved a window table for our 33rd Wedding Anniversary and had a fabulous dinner with excellent service.I had the Beef and my wife had the Chicken. Both were so flavourful and beautifuly presented.Thanks John for a dinner to remember!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Ate here with 2 coworkers tonight as we are travelling across Canada for work. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted with smiles and extremely good energy. We all spoke on how impressed we were before even sitting down. The music playing is Jazz/Blues, think Frank Sinatra vibes. Old diner vibes. Immaculate. Lighting is on point as well. I had the Bacon Burger, and it was genuinely the best burger I have ever had in my life (aside from Mom's, of course!) it was so tender, almost as if it melted in your mouth. Rarely do I have a burger that I am impressed by. I was blown away. You don't even need teeth to be able to eat this burger. Juicy, flavourful, tender amazing goodness. I would give this place 10 stars if I could

Excellent! As historical as the site is, there is an amazing newness to the place. The food is like none other, is equal to fine dining.
The vintage classic decor really stamps this bistro as a Powell River gem. Thank you John for the great evening, our meal was delicious and fancy. Love the fountain feature, and the furnishings. A true virtue of Powell River was all the real wood throughout. Well Done! Looking forward to the dinner theatre in early March.

I eat out of town for work a lot. One of the best, most skilled, bang for your buck, filling meals I’ve had! Work of art. Great for any meal! Mhm so good. Service was great. Got the great blue music playing! I’ll definitely be making a stop next time in Powell river!
