Absolutely love this place! The owner is a super genuine Chinese guy – so warm, friendly, and always greets you with a big smile. You can really feel the passion and hospitality the moment you walk in.

The food is incredible – everything tastes authentic, fresh, and made with so much care. Whether it’s the classics or their special dishes, every bite is delicious. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable.

Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. Highly recommend it to everyone! Already planning my next visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everything over cooked & mushy... More batter than prawn... Absolutely worst Chinese I've had in Powell River... & Was too expensive & no delivery as I live 1 block away... & I was sick 2 hours after trying to eat... I'm Never going to this place Ever & I won't recommend them...

I ordered #5 1 person dinner..
Sweet Sour Chicken Prawns & chicken chow mein... vegetable wonton soup... I walked with my walker to go & pick up my order
Walked home & there was no sweet & sour sauce on my Chicken soup had 1 broccoli & 1 carrot & Won Ton Noodles with vegetables were mushy & over cooked ... portions is small for the price for dinner for 1... couldn't eat most of it...when I phoned argued with me & offered me no compensation...
Never going there again EVER!!!

Don't go to this place unless you are starving and every other place in town is closed. The food is nasty. The service sucks and the place is a dump you've been warned there was nothing gourmet about the place

Let me just say it was absolutely the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten....or at least tried to eat. Absolutely Horrible food.

It's a North American style Chinese restaurant and take-out. Gives you exactly what you expect, quickly. Has a wide variety of combo options and reasonable prices.

Ordered take out tonight and it was delicious , I ordered the war wonton and combination dinner.

Needed a Chinese food fix. Definitely hit the spot! Added bonus is you actually meet the owner and the family behind the scenes. You don't see this type of family run business elsewhere anymore!

Absolutely loved the food. It was so fresh. Very delicious. The service was fantastic and the family that owns the restaurant is so welcoming and sweet. They went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed, especially with our 1.5 year old. We will deffinetly be going back!

It's an old school vibe in the restaurant, the service and food were top quality. I will definitely be bringing my family back here.

Don't let the old reviews from 2+ years ago fool you. There are new owners who are giving it their all to revitalize the establishment. The result is some of the best Chinese food I have ever tried. The batter on fried items is always crispy, and never too thick. The meat inside is good quality. Vegetables are fresh and perfectly cooked, neither too soft or too crispy.I even ordered the wor won ton soup despite all the negative reviews here. I love it! The broth is plenty flavourful, with giant slices of BBQ pork, large prawns (tails removed!), well-proportioned wontons, and green peas that definitely didn't come either frozen or canned -- among other contents. And the best part is that it takes up 2 whole take-out containers, for only $15.99!I will say that sometimes it takes a while to get your food when dining in or even picking up (I have had to wait well past the pick up time), but 'good things come to those who wait'.Glad to see Gourmet Canton enjoying a new spark! Try it and I believe you won't be disappointed.

Wheelchair accessibility: Parking lot is completely flat with front entrance. Persons with wheelchairs should have no issues with accessibility.
