The receptions is a bit of a hot head and Dosent have common courtesy towards humans I asked the orange haired lady, if they had hot water and she was extremely rude and said “Noooo” in the most childish attitudey manner, I would except a grown woman to have her crap together at this day in age and not give teenagers attitude for one simple question.

Very friendly welcome, dated but clean rooms, cheerful housekeeping staff.
Only thing I was surprised by was no microwave.
Great continental breakfast choices.
Would stay here again for sure.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Despite placing the “Maid Service Please” sign on my door each day, housekeeping never came—not even once. After long workdays, I returned to find the room completely untouched: no fresh towels, no garbage emptied, and no basic cleaning done.

I reported the issue to the front desk and was told a note would be made, but that housekeeping had already left for the day. The exact same situation happened again the third evening, I received the same excuse, with no accountability or effort to resolve the issue.

To make matters worse, the receptionist was consistently rude and dismissive, displaying a complete lack of professionalism—and frankly, an attitude that felt discriminatory and deeply disrespectful. It’s clear the hotel staff has little regard for guest experience.

The only positive thing about this place is its location. I’ve visited Powell River four times and stayed at Beach Gardens twice without ever having such a negative experience. Unfortunately, due to the poor service and unacceptable treatment here, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

After ten years of staying numerous times a year at this establishment, the service and staff have become very rude. Unfortunately I will never stay here again.

We stayed at the Powell River Town Centre Hotel in February. It's a very nice hotel for a small town. The Rooms are modern and clean, its a quiet hotel and its located near a mall and shopping plaza. The location is great as there is a grocery stone near by, few food outlets and the hotel has two restaurants as well. Rooms have a microwave, a large (for a hotel) fridge, so you can pick up things at the grocery store or save leftovers. Staff was very nice and friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Stopped here for work , 4 nights / 5 days . Nice location next to everything within walking distance. There were no views from rooms , the heater was pre program, so it was cold in the room. Small tv , little fridge, coffee machine that was very loud !! No microwave. People working here are polite, back entrance locks ! So when you park it is a pain !!! Should have a lock that works with room key !! I would go out fire door and leave open to get back in ! Bed and small table in room , basic channels for tv.

If your wondering , This is not a Hockey friendly hotel. The staff is absolutely miserable And will spend more time staring at cameras, then restocking rooms.
I would recommend that the Hockey community in general avoid this place and direct your funds to other hotels in the area that clearly could use it more in the winter months when things slow down.

The only thing this hotel has going for them is their location. It’s close to many stores. However, checking in was horrible, the desk staff were very strict and rude on the “rules”, they place judgement on sport teams (we were allocated this hotel by the PR minor hockey association). We are emailed the rules which are pretty standard for hotel rules, we are then asked to sign the agreement to the rules at check-in, the signed agreement is then photocopied and handed to you, following that we are lectured on the rules verbally, and we even had the staff call our young children over to the counter and lecture them on the rules emphasizing on “being kicked out” if they so much as walk the halls without an adult. There was no reason for the lecture, it was poor customer service and very uncalled for, we are all grown adults, we read the rules, we understand the rules. The rooms are run down, no microwaves either. The carpets were dirty!!! Like their vacuum just pushes everything to the baseboards and leaves it, don’t look under your bed!!! Disgusting. Hair on walls of bathroom too. For the nightly fee, these rooms are trash, very run down. We have come to PR three times now for hockey and have previously been blessed with the allocation to Beach Gardens Resort, where we have never had bad service or rooms, so if your needing a hotel in PR, think about beach gardens, and avoid town centre.

I have never had a worse hospitality experience in many years of travelling. Aside from the lack of housekeeping service and supplies, this hotel supposedly “welcomes”sports teams to Powell River. This place has all the welcoming feeling of a pre trial facility.

I would encourage all sport teams to beware of booking with this hotel. Their rules for teams are quite standard, and all parents agree to supervise their minor children/players. Every sports parent understands the reason for these rules.

However, the level of intolerance and impatience from the staff at this hotel was completely unacceptable. Kids and parents alike were yelled at and threatened, simply by talking to each other in the hallways. Our team asked to rent one of several conference rooms… denied. The only option was for the team to be confined to their rooms, as staff saw fit to threaten to kick out 13 year olds seen speaking with each other.

Very happy to take your money, don’t really want you to be there. If you can stay somewhere else, I recommend you do!

There was a hockey tournament being hosted and most of the teams resided in this hotel. The first day we got here three of the players had mold in their room and had to be switched. Late at night the other teams were running around yelling and knocking on doors but we got the blame for it the next morning. Then the 2nd to last night the players were waiting for a teammate so they could hang out with him and a staff meme et came by and said “we have warned you multiple times about running and yelling” which our team wasn’t and after she said “no congregating in the hallway or else I’m gonna have to start kicking people out” and the thing is IT WAS TOO THE CHILDREN, THEY HAD ESSENTIALLY THREATENED OUR CHILDREN.

I haven’t been actually inside the hotel in a long time, but was always friendly staff especially Elaine & Wendy! Housekeepers were all very helpful, polite, and friendly! Especially Joan, she was one of the housekeepers that was there for many years, & always smiling and friendly!…. as well as Flo, Wendy, Lyn, Shira, I know there are more ladies but it’s been that long so I’m unable to remember their names! I always looked forward to either walking thru, stopping into at the restaurant or the pub…. I always looked forward at seeing one of the ladies! All in all a great business all around! In all departments!

Quiet and Clean space. Came for a business trip, the location was central, close to the town centre and restaurants. Plenty of free parking and a decent breakfast spread.

Great hotel for a short stay. Rooms are clean and shower is perfect. Breakfast was supposed to be continental but that was disappointing. Boiled egg (cold), toast and yoghurt were pretty much the highlights. For the rest only sweets.
An ideal base for excursions in the area.
Recommended for a short stay.

Rooms: Clean, neat

Service: 3
