ok food, but expensive for what it is, bad service
Fried fish looked amazing when we walked in so that is what we ordered. It was good, but the fish was soggy/greasy and the fries were undercooked and a bit greasy. Silverware was not clean, but we thought we would just eat with our fingers since we somewhat ordered finger food. When we went to pay, the fellow told us the US/Canadian exchange rate was 1 to 1, not true, but we did not want to argue with him….should have paid by credit card. We probably would have let this review go, but after the 1 to 1 comment on the exchange rate, felt we owed the public an honest review so they would know to be wary. I fail to see that the management of this restaurant has been the same very long. It appears it now owned by people just trying to make a quick buck on the reputation someone else built. In my opinion.
The locals had warned us that the new owners were letting Dolly's slide down in quality. We should have listened. The fish and chips came and both the haddock and lingcod( we each had a different fish) were ok but the batter was soggy and tasteless so we ate only the fish. The fries were cool and also limp. Best part was my partner's ceaser salad and my coleslaw. We will not be back and cannot recommend Dolly's to anyone.
Great little place with fresh seafood. Fish and chips were excellent! Boston chowder was ok, but not what I’m used to being from the east coast. The real star of my meal was the fried calamari. Perfectly cooked and not greasy. Flavor was excellent and I would order this again. Seating is pretty tight on the inside, so get there early. Service was decent and it was cool to see the live crabs in the adjacent market.
The best Seafood spot IMHO. The rockfish burger was juicy with fantastic flavor! So is the lingcod and the crap cake! This is the place for best bang for the buck seafood in town!
Stopped here after a long walk. It took time to be seated, to order food, and to receive our drinks. After a 25 minute wait, we asked for the status of our food, the manager took charge and brought our food to us immediately.
The food was delicious and made fresh. The white crowder was excellent. Halibut bites were very good and the shrimp pasta was very tasty.
The service was lacking, we never were checked on and the prices were a bit high.
It wasn’t disappointing experience however, I would definitely try a different restaurant before going back to Dolly’s.
improve? I don't know if they know of this word lol.
We had a wonderful dinner at Dolly's enjoying their new Italian menu, along with some favorites from the original menu. Great service, big portions and delicious food. Great family atmosphere.

Best french fries and halibut was just as described in previous reviews. Plump and juicy. Paired it with a local lager. Bon appetit!!

If you want to try a good fresh fish from the area this is the ideal place. I'll come back to try the Sea Food Burguer!

I ate here with friends on September 2, 2024. The food was ok. Not as great as had been suggested by a few. After leaving, I noticed a double charge on my credit card. I walked back that night, spoke to the server, we verified the double charge. He promised it would not show up twice on my card. It did. It's now 20 days and at least 4 phone calls later, lots of promises for a call back, and then silence. Nothing. I wait a few days. Call back. Same thing, they promise a call back within hours or that day. Nothing. When I phone they are always busy, always have empty promises. This is such a disappointment and waste of my time. I've had enough. Management needs to do better.
