First wouldn’t let us bring a cake in for a birthday party? Only restaurant I’ve ever heard of that won’t allow it. If you sold cake it would be a little more understandable, but you don’t. So we decide to get takeout instead so we can have our cake too. Got our food home and it looked like the dog’s breakfast 🤢 slimy wilted lettuce, way over salted teriyaki, cold rice.

My friends, family and I have been coming here consistently since they opened up shop in Quesnel, never had a bad experience in all these years. Staff have always been incredibly kind and generous over the years and the food is always delicious! One of the best restaurants in town, hands down.

Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the waitress, but she and Mr. Michael, the dining supervisor, displayed a rude attitude throughout our visit. They seemed to lack basic customer service skills, and their facial expressions conveyed a noticeable lack of respect.
Canada is known for its courteous culture, where people often say “thank you” and “sorry” with sincerity. It's essential, however, to use these words genuinely and respectfully. Mr. Michael could benefit from embracing this approach rather than being sarcastic with customers.
Mr. Terry (apologies if the spelling is incorrect), I understand you were not present on site. However, responding to Google reviews with respect would be the least one could expect. Given the way your staff treats customers, it’s not surprising to see defensive responses instead of accountability.
Mr. Terry, I noticed one of your responses stated - "Do not set foot near Ginza again. Understood?"
Being a victim myself, I couldn't stop myself from intervening.

I’m sorry to disappoint, but there are other establishments in your vicinity where customers are valued and respected. And because of your restaurant, nobody can stop going to these places. Your statement is nonsensical, and it's ironic and funny that you still expect customers to visit your restaurant despite this response. Rest assured, I won’t be back, and I’ll make sure my family, including my dog, never visits either.

Thank you for taking the time to respond and for offering to meet for a "rational conversation." I’ll admit, I didn’t expect such an invitation, especially after the tone of your previous comments. I appreciate you stepping up and showing the initiative to address this personally.
That said, what’s done is done, and unfortunately, respect is something that, once lost, is hard to restore. At this point, I don't find it necessary to invest my precious time nor energy to pursue this topic further. I believe that if things had been handled with a more mature and thoughtful approach from the beginning—especially from an owner—the situation might have been different.

I’m deeply disappointed with our experience at Ginza Ichiban. From the start, the service was slow, and despite our patience, we faced unacceptable treatment. The server was extremely rude, even yelling at us for simply touching a screen while we waited. When we asked about sharing, they told us it wasn’t allowed and made faces as if our presence was bothersome.
The most concerning part, however, was the blatantly racist behavior. We were subjected to name-calling and treated with hostility throughout our meal, and the overall atmosphere was tense and uncomfortable. We felt unwelcome and even threatened at times, which is something no customer should ever experience.
It’s unfortunate that a place with potential could allow such disrespectful behavior to occur. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Ginza Ichiban. Honestly, I would give a 0 if I could.

Don’t believe any baloney reviews that say they had to eat on a napkin or that they didn’t get their miso soup, or that staff didn’t seat them or were rude. False. Absolute cow dung reviews are being posted that are not true and some tourist had the audacity to complain that their portions were too big…
Listen to the locals who actually live here and regularly go to a loving restaurant that has been apart of the community for years!!
