We were there when Igor and Rita came in (they left the 1 star reviews below). They showed up 20 minutes late for the reservation and demanded to have their table. The poor lady at reception was trying to explain that she had emailed them to confirm their reservation because they only had a table outside available and I believe also to confirm the time. Igor just talked over her, wouldn't listen, and stormed out telling about leaving a 1 star review. We were shocked at such rude behaviour. Even if they had a reservation, if you show up 20 minutes late pretty sure most places would give your reservation away. It's not the restaurant's fault you drove through the mountains with no reception.
Our meal was fantastic, aside from some delays by a large table that decided to pay individually and the POS terminal going down. We had the mushroom schnitzel and roulade, and the kids had the alfredo. All of our plates were pretty well scraped clean!

Fantastic service and meal. My mom is celiac and was happy to have such a great gluten free selection. The owners were attentive, kind and knowledgeable, and the house red was great with my dinner. Thank you! Highly recommend!

We arrived with a family reservation on August 31st. We were ignored at the host stand multiple times—no greeting, no “one moment.” When I mentioned our reservation, the response was condescending and dismissive (“you had to answer on my email…”), instead of an apology or an attempt to seat us. We left.
For a place in a tourist area, this was a shocking level of service. I’m leaving 1 star. I expect a public apology and an explanation of how management will retrain front-of-house staff on basic courtesy and handling reservations.

That was unexpectedly disappointed experience here. We did booking online before we arrive to our camping in Kootney National Park, after that our phones were out of service unfortunately. When we came to the restaurant noone met us, we stood there around 10 minutes someone from the staff pass through us several times and even didn't ask if we would like to have a sit and if we have a reservation. After we stopped one of the lady on our own and told that we booked a table she answered that she doesn't have us in the list, that she emailed us and we didn't answer that why she decided just discharge us at all and when we came even don't ask why some people are staying in their restaurant and waiting for something.

Dinner ... Great food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff; excellent service. The lamb shank was nicely done and was delicious. The schnitzel was perfectly done and the red wine mushroom sauce was tasty. The black forest cake was a tad dry, but it was still delectable because of the cherries filling. Very clean environment; comfortable dining room.

We read the reviews however we found the Service was horribly slow. Over 3 hrs. 1 hour sitting at the table before our meal was served. 1 hour sitting waiting for dessert & coffee after the meal. Then had to wait again at the table to pay the bill. Liver & onions meal was overcooked. Mushroom schnitzel was dry. Very disappointed.
The Black Forest in Invermere is a much much more enjoyable experience. We couldn't get a reservation there so we went here. The appetizers are terrible and recommend skipping them, while the main courses are good. Services is very slow and they like to remind you of the minimum spend. If paying by credit the tip is calculated on top of tax so make sure to calculate it yourself.

Authentic and absolutely delicious!
I had a wonderful dining experience at Helna’s Stube! I ordered the Rack of Lamb, Kärntner Kasnudel, and the dessert Mohr im Hemd — every dish was bursting with authentic flavor and beautifully prepared.
The food was rich, comforting, and truly reflective of Austrian cuisine. The Rack of Lamb was perfectly cooked, the Kasnudel was a unique and hearty treat, and the Mohr im Hemd was the perfect sweet finish.
Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for genuine European flavors and warm hospitality. A gem of a place!

We recommend to book a reservation as this place was busy and for good reason! A friendly, quaint, and delightful evening out. The restaurant was busy and the options for indoor or outdoor dining were available and plenty.
The service was friendly and down to earth, and the table decor was lovely. Simple but elegant.
The food is what proves to be a delight. Our family had French onion soup, the garlic soup, the escargot and the buffalo mozzarella with tomato appetizers. All amazing.
We had the peppercorn steak and substituted Swiss potatoes. So tasty. Two of us had the mushroom schnitzel. Unreal flavour in this dish. The portions were huge and the flavour phenomenal.
Such a lovely dinner. If you are staying in the area it is well worth the visit!

A must stop when in Radium Hot Springs. I have been going to this restaurant for 24 years and still my favorite place to eat. The food is amazing and the staff are awesome. First restaurant I have been to that I asked the chef to come to my table so I could shake his hand.
