Great little family & dog friendly spot with excellent food. If you’ve got little ones or four legged friends and are looking for a good meal to enjoy with everyone in tow - this is the place. The menu has a lot of variety and everything we’ve tried is delicious - plus lots of great options for kids. The big bonus is the spacious outdoor area where you can enjoy your meal (and a few drinks) in a laid back stress-free environment. Definitely worth checking out!
Iconic!
I have enjoyed a lot of burgers in my time, and I would say that the Gourmet Burger I had at the Gumboot on June 24th 2025 was the best I've had in my life. Highly recommend. The other people with me enjoyed what they had too... My wife had the curried perogies. Bottom line... a great spot!
Owner operated. Great attitude, service and food. A must visit!
Amazing food!
Great for a date or an event
Very laid back atmosphere, enjoyed the outdoor patio and had some delicious pulled pork tacos and a daily Korean hot dog special. Will definitely come back!
Lovely outdoor patio, friendly service and delicious food - can do many gluten free options.
We visited The Gumboot Restaurant and tried the Buddha Bowl and Veggie burgers, which came with fries and other side options. The food was absolutely delicious, very filling, and full of flavor! The ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. A great dining experience overall!

Food is fine - not a lot of other options nearby, so it's nice to have it around. But it's a bit pricey and the menu feels very 90s / 2000s - i.e. before vegetarian food got a more gourmet upgrade.
Staff was generally alright, though in some rare cases service was really, really sub-par - actually downright hostile.

Very good food, fresh and yummy. Definitely one of the best restaurants on the coast. Authentic yam fries etc.
Wheelchair accessibility: Bit awkward but accessible

Beautiful fresh food and kind service. Great vegetarian menu. Killer salmon burger. A perfect stop along the Sunshine Coast!
I keep meaning to try something other than the tacos and flatbread special but can’t seem to deviate. We love to stop by here to grab a bite and browse the amazing selection of BC wines thoughtfully curated. We visited yesterday and tho there was a chill in the air, the patio has heaters that allowed us to enjoy dining outdoors.
David and his team offer a wonderful customer experience and I recommend giving them a try when on the Sunshine Coast. See you again soon!

While the service and atmosphere were ok both our meals were slimy, gucky, disgusting messes.
We ordered a noodle bowl with chicken and tofu and a chicken burger with bacon. Both were swimming in their respective bland sauces.
The “noodle” bowl consisted of mostly broken pieces of noodles accompanied by a few pieces of soggy vegetables.
The chicken burger had so much mayonnaise and other sauce that the bun was quickly obliterated rendering the sandwich inedible without using a fork and knife. After pushing the remnants of the bun aside what was left was some form of a processed patty that beared no resemblance to a chicken breast in either taste or texture. However, the accompanying potatoes were fine.
The prices were very high for what we considered to be the worst meals in recent memory. Fortunately, we found other restaurants fairly close by that provided much higher quality.

This is a great local restaurant. The food is good but a little pricey. As many have mentioned the aluminum food trays are a poor choice. It would be far nicer if the got lightweight melamine for that retro look rather than cutting your food on aluminum. The building is quant and comfortable with ample seating area. We went on a nice day so had the choice of eating outside. The wasps can be a bit of an annoyance so we stayed in. Good vegan options.
Parking: You may need to park out on the street. The parking lot can be crowded and difficult to get in and out of. There is ample parking in the area.
