Tried the Mexican omelet. But size was pretty small and missing key ingredient. Salsa! When waitress asked how food was I started to explain that I felt a Mex omelet should have salsa. And she just walked away... What is the point in asking if you don't listen to feedback??

I took my wife for Valentine's Day lunch to Nineteen05 Kitchen. We were impressed with the decor and, albeit winter, with the lakeside location. A lot of effort and thought went into the design, decor and branding. We were welcomed and seated immediately. While we did have a reservation, it was not necessary as there were only a handful of occupied tables and this did not change over the course of lunch.

The very friendly but obviously inexperienced male server was somewhat disorganized but tried his best with a smile. He took our appetizer order before our drinks. There were a few more mishaps and lack of polish such as awkward clearing of dishes and grabbing cutlery with his fist and dribbling curry sauce all over nearly missing my pants. Enough said about this nice young fellow who could benefit from a bit of time shadowing a seasoned server.

The food. We had elevated expectations based the top notch decor of this restaurant. The menu tries to aspire to the decor by playing on fusion but I my view comes up short... by a mile.

For appetizers we ordered red curry shrimp and a pound of mussels. Both dishes came out promptly and came with a large piece of warm bread. The bread was odd. It had the consitency of very loose cornbread and did not serve its intened purpose of sopping up a delicious sauce. The shrimp arrived in a bowl that was baked over with what appeared to be marbled cheddar - an odd choice for red curry shrimp. The sauce tasted good ut was watery rather than creamy. The mussels were ok but several did not open or had been crushed. Whoever was at the pass did not check quality. For mains, my wife ordered sushi which appeared well prepared and tasted good. I am not a big fan of non-Japanese restaurants doing sushi but I realize it is a common trend. I ordered the brisket and Fettucine pasta which peaked my interest and ended up to be the catalyst for this less than stellar review. It was a utter mess which failed on presentation, flavour, mouth-feel and overall execution. The closest experience I can compare this dish to is A wet cotton mop dipped in a watery alfredo sauce with, again, the same large piece of bread mentioned earlier. The pasta came with the brisket stirred into the pasta which gave it a grey and unappetizing appearance. The brisket fibres pulled together in a hairclog type of mess. I had two bites and the mouth-feel is exactly as one would imagined. I sent it back. I suppose what I had imagined in my culinary mind was a small pile of brisket piled atop of some Fettucini pasta. If I was asked, I would do smoked brisket but that is neither here or there.

To the credit of our server, he was very apologetic and tried to offer another dish or dessert which I declined. He later removed this dish from the bill.

I am not sure what happened that day. I want to believe it was a just bad day. I really like the atmosphere and idea behind this restaurant. Small towns need destinations like this is (could be). Clearly, there are many great reviews. I will give this place another try. Perhaps for dinner.

2023: The place has gone downhill in the last year or so. The 2 young servers on shift worked hard to keep up, kudos to them! But unfortunately the place feels like it's in need of management and more staff. The espresso machine has been broken for months. I wouldn't say the food lives up to its price either. If you want to treat yourself to a special night out with high quality ingredients there are other options in the Shuswap.

2024: Gave this place another chance. Didn't know you could go wrong with charcuterie. Turns out you can.

Decided to go to this place for our anniversary. We were seated right away. The restaurant is beautiful! Our server was incredibly friendly. We got the lettuce wraps to start, then my husband got the chicken burger and I got the steak with gnocchi. His sandwich looked great and my sirloin steak was one the best steaks I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly with great flavour!! The drinks were also amazing. We've been on the road on vacation for 10 days now and this is the best meal we've had yet. For dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding and the servings were huge and so delicious.

Highly recommend.

Went here for our anniversary Sept 6. Sat on the patio. Beautiful area and pretty view. Waitress was excellent. Had the Arctic char. It was good. I wish I had asked what the side dish was because it turned out to be the one thing I can't stand - beans! Like baked bean. I've never gotten beans as a side dish for anything before so I never thought to ask. Had Arctic char from Nunavut where my sister lived and it was a very dark pink. This char was almost white so not sure if different kind, different cooking method or whatever but it was still good. Husband had steak and said it was excellent. Unfortunately when sun went down, the bugs came out. Had to rush out of there before we were eaten alive. Nice place to go for a special occasion.

For some reason, our server was incredibly rude during breakfast service yesterday morning.
From the get go, there was no smiles or politeness. Our menus were put on the table for us to find, our questions seemed irritating, even though we were nothing but polite with many pleases and thank-yous.
She accused my friend of ordering something else, which we all heard what she ordered. Not only did she not apologize, but she didn’t accommodate my friend for the mistake at all. She said she would “have to put a rush on that” and it was just a “misunderstanding”… She would leave our table very rushed and before we could request anything. When we did get a word in, she would claim “doesn’t your friend have enough for you to share?”………. (Hers was empty too by the way.) She would cut you off when you’re trying to speak, it was all very uncalled for.
After we all seemed very uncomfortable with her attitude, she put her hands on our backs, claiming “is everyone happy now??” Which made us extremely more uncomfortable.
She ran away from us when we were paying our bills as well. I’m not sure what caused this, we all have bad days I understand, but it made for a very terrible morning brunch for me and my friends. We’ve all been servers, we know the job and we’re all super patient. What gives??

I only make my own cheesecakes because of quality. This place actually takes the cake. The only place in town to get a decent dessert.
