Small town bakery in Sointula BC (pop about 500). Limited selection at bakery (we went off season) but Victor indicates his best seller, ciabbata, made fresh every day. All baking never frozen. There's a small seating area with approximately 6 or 7 bistro tables, nothing fancy but you can sit and enjoy a coffee or sample what's available that day. We had the soup of the day (beef & barley) and a sandwich (ham & cheese on ciabbata). Delish! Just perfect for a cool rainy day. Victor was a wonderful and friendly host. Thank you! Recommend you stop in if you're in the neighborhood.

VERY limited selection - 5 dif items. Extremely hot inside. We were disappointed after hearing rave reviews. Baked good we did get were good, but selection was so poor.

We went in Thursday evening, shelves were bare. Proprietor asks what we want. Bread, maybe? Come back tomorrow. No problem. We come back the next morning and there are a few unidentified loaves on the rack. Proprietor comes out of kitchen after 5 minutes, sees us, and turns to the next customer who tells him we were first. He asks what we want. Same as yesterday: bread. Exasperated, he quickly reels off what the loaves are. Laughing, I say that he seems to think we should know what we want, and he says we should. While he helps a local, another tourist asks if that is the proprietor. We all shrug and the four of us go to the Cafe down the street. Our impression is that tourists aren't welcome.

Fantastic place to stop and get bread, a snack or a drink. The proprietor made me really welcome and I am just so thankful for artisan bakers in these smaller communities. What a privilege to get a beautiful, tasty, perfect loaf on my visit! Thank you for your amazing baking.
This place is cash only and it's first come first served when it comes to baked goods. It's small batch fresh stuff and it's GOOD. The sausage rolls are to die for.
