I’m an Avid Guiness Drinker and Backhand of God is the best craft stout I’ve came across. Always get excited seeing restaurants having it on their menu.
I've had 4 types of their beers so far and they're all top tier.
I got this beautiful Haskap berry beer while at the Sorrento farmers market. Best served ice cold, it is super refreshing on a hot summer day. Beer of the summer!
Nice to finally see where my favorite stout comes from. Great people.
Smallness and scarcity are part of the allure of Crannog Ales. While some might take umbrage with the political statements made on-site, nobody can deny their craft and the quaintness and quietness and oneness of their beautiful hobby farm. A lovely lifestyle project, and one I hope to visit again sometime in the future. If only they had a tasting room! Oh well, have a fresh pint (or two) at Copper Island!Which says nothing of their product: Truly one of the absolute GREATS in Canada, says this humble man on Google Maps. A 5/5 here does no real justice for the beer lover. One of a very small hand full of my personal favourites. Clean, crisp, tasty, boozy. When you taste a Crannog Ales ale, you will think that you had been drinking piss those many years. Crannog Ales represents some imagined pinnacle of the craft that is beer making. Thank you, Crannog Ales.
Fresh organic beer, innovative ales like Rhubarb and Haskap. The traditional brews (Backhand of God) are also excellent. Growlers only.
Great guy, great beer.
We did a tour and a tasting and it was so interesting. Brian is a wealth of information and it was really neat to here how passionate their farm is about organic and sustainable farming and brewing. The beer was also fantastic!!!
Met the owner at the Sorento Farmer’s market, so decided to pay the micro brewery a visit. Brian was super friendly and even took the time to give us a tour, and sample of of his excellent ales. Bought a growler of IPA.
excellent ales, very simple and natural

Awesome little brewery and farm. The tour was so interesting and Jacob was very knowledgeable and passionate about the business. The permaculture they have at this farm is exactly how we should all be living. Will definitely be back and will definitely be spreading the word.
Sad that closed Mondays Tuesdays and the local Sorrento Liquor store guy says he's never heard of Crannog Brewery Lol... Would be nice to pick it up somewhere when popping through that part of BC. Guess I'll keep my money, sadly.
Amazing local business that pours their heart into every beer. A unique taste and definately unlike anything else you've ever had. A personal favorite is the backhand of God and their limited run of cherry beer they do in the summers. Touring their brewery is certainly worth the stop, the staff is incredibly knowledgable and friendly.
Stopped in for a tour and what a wealth of information Brian is! He walked us through his operation after showing us the organic hops they grow and explain how such a small footprint they leave on the environment...and I mean small! Had an opportunity to try 4 different ales and they were outstanding! My wife is not a fan of darker beer and she liked all 4 we tried. Just enjoying their Red Ale as I type and it's even better around the fire (propane)!!! Please stop by with your empty growlers... as that's the only way to enjoy at home...there's pubs and restaurants around South BC you can have too. You won't be disappointed!
Amazing knowledge and commitment to high quality product and care for the earth. Leaders in the industry.
