Sadly I have given this place a try a few times with the thought things will be better…..wrong!Service is extremely slow, have to ask for refills and that is very slow, the waitress is clueless when it comes to menu or what pies they have. I ordered the loaded burger with fries the waitress asked if it was with cheese or no cheese I said it comes with cheese, bacon and mushrooms that is what I want….the burger came out with just CHEESE!!!! The wait for the burger was long and like hell I was going to wait longer when the bill came she tried to charge me for a loaded burger instead of a cheese burger. When asked for the manager to discuss this and other visits I was told that Brad was only there in the mornings at 7 am for about 30 minutes then he was gone. When I said how does one manage a restaurant in that little time and was told he doesn’t. Sounds like he doesn’t like his role and maybe someone should be hired that does. I won’t be back again.

Our Server was really attentive and cheery. Nothing else was acceptable. Meat portion was definitely sufficient but parts were burnt - parts were under cooked. Veggies were cooked practically beyond recognition. We try to consume locally but this recent meal ( mid July ) was a big disappointment.

Have been to all the Home restraunts from Hope to Salmon Arm ... this location, Sorrento is the worst I've been. Lousy service and very poor food quality. Waste of money and time. Should've gone to subway cross the street.

About 20 years ago I drove from Calgary to Vancouver and had some weird vertigo-in-ear-imbalance thing, happen to me. I pulled over many times, trying to gain some sense of normality. I could not make it and had to pull over to some side road - Texas chain saw massacre - Bates motel establishment. I also had to feed the kids. The only place available was this place. All I remember was the soup and pie. I had chicken noodle and pecan pie. I have no clue what I ordered for the kids. All I know is that it stuck with me. Fast forward… and I can not come back to Calgary without stopping in here. The service and food are just amazing and guess where we are headed tomorrow!!! If you have never stopped in… the small town feel of home cooking is something you need to experience!!! 5 ? all day!

Want to rate this 3 1/2 actually, as the food itself is fine, but if you are in a hurry, don’t eat here. The servers were efficient and friendly, and although not even half full, the two could barely cope with the guests. We waited about 40 minutes after orders were taken. Coffee fill-ups had to be asked for, and by the time the 4 breakfasts came, the toasts were all cold. The food is plentiful and tasty, and the price reflects the portions. It is hard getting and keeping food industry staff these days, so don’t expect the ‘good old days’.A reliable and convenient place nonetheless.

By far THE WORST SERVICE I've ever received at a restaurant! No second cup off coffee, asked for piece of lemon with ice tea, never came. Asked for Chipotle mayo with fries, didn't come, had to ask for it. No condiment with the toast. Had to ask for our bill, plates not taken away when we were done. I finally got up, waved credit and bill in the air to get their attention, none! Finally spoke up, coffee credited...that's it. BIGGEST CONCERN...DISGUSTING LADIES BATHROOM WITH NO SOAP. I'm sure VIHA would be thrilled to hear that during COVID. Never again...deplorable!

I wish I could rate this place higher, but the service today for breakfast was really slow and painful. The two servers were friendly and efficient, but had a hard time coping with a half-full dining area, so not sure what to expect when it’s really busy. The meals were worth the price, as the servings are large. After a 40-min. wait for the food, the toasts were all cold by then. Don’t stop here if you are in a hurry, otherwise it is a good bet.

Went for fathers day today, almost no one in the place but were prepping for a big table. My dads fries were cold, my moms yam fries weren't cooked fully and charged her $6 for 2 peices of toast with cheese melted - glorified microwave cheese bread. My brothers panini didnt have a top bun and brought him fries instead of soup. My sausage was lukewarm. And when my dad asked why his gravy was liquid instead of thick, she simply told us it's how they made it today. Then, my dad asked for his fries to be packed up but she threw them out. Very disappointing.

Terrible experience here yesterday for breakfast. Was out of most menu items and when we finally got our breakfast some items were missing and the bacon was wayyyy overdone.

Great place to eat, wonderful service. Took client's there after showing some houses in Blind Bay and they loved it! The pies are to die for!

Had a breakfast that consisted of bacon, eggs, shredded hashbrowns and toast! Big enough that two can share the meal!
