We asked for mugs to stay to decrease waste. They didn’t have any. Only disposable. Some kooky anti science literature and misinformation prominently on display. No tap on their machine. And they double steamed the milk for my latte. We have often wondered about this place as we drive past often. Now we know.

Absolutely loved my visit to Steamers Coffee Co.! This is the perfect little gem of a coffee shop to stumble upon during a road trip. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I even had the pleasure of chatting with some friendly locals. I also picked up a great book while I was there! The Chain by Brandee Radford.
But the real standout was the incredible staff member, Lenka. From the moment I walked in, her amazing energy was infectious. She went above and beyond with her customer service. Not only did she craft the most delicious ice chai latte I've ever had, but she also took the time to recommend a fantastic local hike. Lenka's genuine enthusiasm and helpfulness truly made my experience memorable. She even sold me on the book I bought.
If you're ever in Sorrento, BC, Steamers Coffee Co. is a must-visit, and if you see Lanka, be sure to say hello! You won't be disappointed.

The coffee shop is located in a small shopping center just off the main road. The interior is decorated nice with a few tables to enjoy your coffee. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The coffee was very good. In addition to coffee you can get a nice variety of cakes,cookies and a few other items.

Stopped for a quick bite as other people mentioned they had gluten free options. They have a few snacks and soup, but no GF sandwiches or hearty items. Had a soup, cheesecake, and latte. Soup was good, cheesecake was not. Crust was burnt and the cheesecake wasn't cheesecake. The latte I ended up throwing out it was so bad. I wasn't going to rate this low, but two hours later and there is still a literal bad taste in my mouth. I don't know what artificial ingredient they used, but it was bad.

A gem of a cafe/bakery/gift shop!
Top notch drinks and baked goods, and an awesome assortment of gifts and souvenirs make this place well worth stopping in on your way by!
Dietary restrictions: They do have a handful of gluten free baked goods to choose from!
I use to love this place because they always had a really good selection of treats. For those that have allergies this was heaven and they were always very accommodating. Unfortunately they have stopped carrying the multiple choices they had available or being accommodating. I’m really sad about this as I would ensure to make the trip regularly to support them and their yummy treats. I’m no longer able to. Hopefully you consider nut free/gluten free cheese cake again or your chocolate mouse.

I’ve stopped in multiple times over the last few months really wanting to like it but almost every time, the owner or manager is behind the counter berating the employees, and on occasion raising her voice to the point of it being really awkward to just be standing there waiting for your drink. I feel so bad for the young staff and just can’t justify spending money there anymore and witnessing/supporting that behaviour no matter how convenient it is for me to stop in.

Sadly, this place promotes anti-vaccine, anti-science, anti-environmental ideology with copies of a ridiculous conspiracy “newspaper” upon entrance to their cafe. When it was suggested that this reflects poorly on their business, the response was sarcastic and dismissively rude.
You might say, “Why does this matter? Just drink the coffee.”
It matters because all of humanity is gravely imperilled by a few emboldened outspoken morons. They continue to benefit daily from science, quality research, and public health protections in every aspect of their lives, yet ignorantly continue to snipe at and rant against these things.
I hope for a future guided by reason and expertise, not idiotic ideology. Speak up!
