Freebird restaurant only had 1 server working on Saturday afternoon. We got seated in the lounge, some water and after 10 minutes of not being able to order decided to leave as she was very busy in the dining area.
This was not the server's fault, more on management not staffing adequately.

Let me start by saying my dad loves the oysters and the dirty fries ...fabulous
But Blake the manager handled a situation very poorly
There was a big family group of us and our waitress forgot to take calamari off our bill....it was nothing more than fried lumps of dough
She also charged us for a bottle of wine we didn't have and forgot to deduct the 15% HH discount for the bottle we did have
In total we were overcharged 70$
We left town the next morning to go back to Alberta
I phoned 3 times over the next 2 weeks and was always told Blake will call you back
Which he never did
Finally Cindy ...frustrated and annoyed by my many calls credited back my CC
Even after all that Blake still didn't call to apologize..We all know an apology goes a long way

Our fault I guess for not looking closely at the bill before leaving
To other Patrons...have a good look at your bill...mistakes happen

Finally an apology...thank you Claire....your email was very much appreciated

I reserved a table this summer and it was my first time coming. I was nervous because I wanted to treat my American families to the best of Squamish. Well, they were impressed as well as me! Service, food, atmosphere, was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed their meals and of course, the oysters!

The chicken sliders are to dir for. Service is superb and the happy hour price on the oysters make it a great place to unwind after a busy day.

This place is absolutely a five star for me. The server was incredible, she was the only waitress on staff and she did such a great job, even when a table of twelve came in. The lobster roll was to die for and there was a great view outside (despite the construction).

“Food” tasted like fryer oil and nothing else. Ordered chicken sliders and fish and chips. Was very bland , fish was Basa, not local. Greasy and gross.

It’s was a absolutely lovely experience at this establishment! We sat outside next to a heated fireplace/lamp and enjoyed an absolutely amazing meal! We have been back and will continue to go back! THANK YOU for opening such a FABULOUS establishment!

Unfortunately this was the most disappointing meal of our vacation. The food had no taste. Would not recommend.

Had a large group event this past week at Free Bird and it didn’t disappoint. Food and drink were awesome and Mel (our server) was attentive and friendly. Personally, the fried chicken and waffle dinner was outstanding. Huge plate and cooked perfectly! Will definitely be back!

Very underwhelming dinner at Free Bird. My wife and three kids and I went for our traditional back-to-school dinner and I'm afraid the entire evening was subpar. The waitress was nice but not overly helpful and to be honest our presence felt a little bit like an inconvenience to her. Never introduced herself and didn't bother to check in with us at all over the course of the meal. The only reason I left a tip at all was because the busboy was nice!
I wish that I could say that the food made up for the service, but that would also be a lie. The crispy veggies were roasted into oblivion, the jambalaya was mostly tasteless, and the fried chicken was mostly batter. The mocktails were quite yummy, as well as the pulled pork sliders, but I expected a little more consistency in the food overall.
I do love the atmosphere and the location is amazing, so I was very much disappointed when neither the food nor the service matched the expectation.

Oysters were fresh & delicious, with a Sky Pilot Pale Ale by Howe Sound Brewing. The food is always on point here, one of our favorite spots in the sea to Sky! Dayna, Sally & Blake & the whole team are all very warm and welcoming!!! 100 stars.

Everyone’s food was delicious, the beef sandwich, lobster Mac and cheese and crispy veggies were so good!!!! Beautiful views and great service! Cocktails were delish- the leading lady should come in a coupe glass though 😝 although they were beautifully garnished. I definitely recommend stopping by.

Our family came during the daily happy hour for local BC oyster ($1.5/shuck). Beautiful restaurant with the tastiest oysters we have ever tried! The flavour is just incredible, fresh, salty, perfect with lemon juice. Happy hour deal is so worth it. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would come back the next time we visit Squamish!
