Went to this restaurant for lunch, didn’t have to wait too long. The service is pretty good, they will check up from time to time with us. The food is good in general, however for spicy food is not spicy enough according to my husband my brother comment. The fried chicken is delicious. The dumping is a little too thick and not very juicy on the inside.

Wife and I miss this place. We went here after exploring Squamish in May 2024. This still stands out as the best ramen we’ve had outside Japan. Earlier this year we went back and explored more of Japan with a focus on Hokkaido with stops in Hakodate, Sapporo, and Asahikawa. Many Ramen shops were visited and Taka Ramen and Sushi still shines bright in our memories.

The place is quite noisy. The restroom is male-and-female, which I find uncomfortable. They bring soup with their thumb in the soup, however I don’t want dirt from under the thumbnail in my soup. Like most restaurants they use frying oil containing dimethypolysiloxane, which is banned in my diet. Other than that and a waitress with a chip on her shoulder who argues about nothing they get 5 stars.

Very good sushi & Ramen spot. We got 3 rolls - salmon avo, poke tuna, and mango special which was the best one but all were good. We also got the Taka Ramen which really hit the spot after hiking the chief. Finally, we added salmon nagiri which was good and gyoza which was mediocre as it wasn't crispy.
Overall very happy with the food, and the service was great especially since they crammed us in last minute before closing, much appreciated! We'll be back!

Taka Ramen is pretty good. Is there a better place for sushi in squamish? Probably not. Is there better value? Most definitely. Not everything is about value; however, if that were the case, we would all be buying salmon fillets and tuna steaks at the grocery store. Restaurants are about convenience and experience and unfortunately that's where Taka's weak points lie. Taka may be suffering from its own success as service can be slow seemingly due to the establishment becoming overwhelmed by hungry patrons. The atmosphere is just okay. It's a sushi restaurant it looks like one it feels like one but there's nothing extra or special. It's clean and looks nice enough but that's about to be expected at this price point anyways. The menu is also far too long providing less of a curated experience and more of a confusing choose your own adventure with too many so-so outcomes. If you're in squamish and you want good sushi, Taka is worth a visit, but don't go too far out of your way or expect to be blown away.
Recommend: Hako sushi, nigiri selection, and takoyaki.

You ever eat something so good it makes you question every past life decision that didn’t lead you to this bowl? Welcome to Taka’s Shoyu Pork Ramen—where my taste buds ascended into a soy-scented heaven and never looked back.
First off, let’s talk about that pork. No, that’s not a meat topping—that’s a meaty duvet. A THICC, juicy, perfectly roasted pork belly slice so big and luscious, I briefly considered naming it and introducing it to my parents.
Then there’s the broth: a rich, umami bomb that whispered sweet nothings to my arteries. It’s like miso and shoyu had a delicious baby raised by pork bones and love. I was ready to take a bath in it. Judge me if you want.
The ramen noodles were the perfect slurp—springy, chewy, with just enough resistance to remind you they mean business. And the egg? Oh man. That marinated jammy egg split open like a golden sunrise, and I’m not saying it brought a tear to my eye, but… okay yeah, I cried a little.
Throw in some bamboo shoots and nori for that extra crunch and chew, and baby—you’ve got yourself a bowl that could heal a heartbreak, fix a hangover, or possibly negotiate world peace.
Final verdict: If you’re not face-down in this bowl at Taka at least once a month, are you even living?
