My son was there during the Con brio music festival, and went to this restaurant with his school. Food and atmosphere were fine, but the plates were unsanitary and unclean. Almost cleaned in a rush in every meal time !!Thankfully he didn’t get sick.
This is an amazing spot to eat in Sun Peaks. The bar staff was very receptive and the Host Bryony was extremely helpful with my girlfriend’s celiac disease and other needs. The food was great and plenty of Gluten Free options as they were very flexible and the whole staff treated us great. Thank you Mantles.
Paul served our party and he was so kind and just lovely! Would highly recommend, beautiful cozy restaurant! #mantles
Not sure why the reviews are so low. Expect resort prices, but food's good
Excellent meal. I had the salmon and my husband the tenderloin and we both had the chocolate mousse. I ate all my mains of salmon before realising I should have taken a photo but I have taken one of the dessert. Will definitely return!
We went back and enjoyed the same dishes. The quality is consistent! I’ve added photos of the mains dishes.
Our first night at the hotel we went to Mantles for a beer and snack. The beer on the bill was $8.50 not the $7 on the menu but we didn't press it. The next day we ordered a bottle of '1775' sauvignon blanc (price $44) along with our very average meal. When we got the bill it showed wine $60. We pointed this out and rather than apologize the waitress mumbled something and abruptly left with the bill. After paying we took the remainder of the wine to our room and realized it was not sauvignon blanc but a much cheaper white wine blend '1775'! This is not coincidence. Don't give this place a first or second try. Don't go!
Best meals by far in our 4 weeks in Sun Peaks. Great Sunday roast and perfect steak and Salmon another time plus Cream Brulee was amazing. Renata was great. Thanks to the kitchen team.
This should be a fantastic restaurant, and in fact it has been……but the ball was dropped this year. Restaurant is way too noisy, way too busy. You need to hire more servers. Our poor waiter was run off his feet! Serving more tables than he should have. We waited for our bill for over 1/2 an hour after we asked for it. And we waited 15 minutes before even asking for it since it was not forthcoming. It only came when we got up and started to leave. Pizza was substandard, burnt and covered in way too much pesto sauce. ( this is not a pasta dish chef!). The avocado tower sounded promising but it was merely a small disc of avocado mousse. Short and stumpy and really not that special. Everyone at the table very disappointed in their meal.
Sat at the bar with my husband for 10 minutes with four staff behind the bar…no one served us. The main bartender walked by twice and we tried to get his attention but he was more interested in talking to the staff (only 3 other customers at the bar). So we left and will not be back…to bad as we are here every year and so are many people we know.
Our server Ryan was amazing! The restaurant was a bit loud, my dish was good, others were decent. A mixed bag depending on the meal.

Had dinner at Mantles on Jan 5. The service and food were great! Salmon was cooked perfectly and our sever was a friendly. Would definitely come back when we visit Sun Peaks next time.
DO NOT GO.
Let me first state the positives. The place it nice and clean. But that’s all about the upsides.
We arrived at the restaurant and was seated, we ordered oysters for appetizer and it arrived fairly quick. We asked the staff for horseradish, vinegar and they said they just can’t give us any for some reason. Then we waited an entire hour sitting there and twiddling our thumbs. After looking for a staff to check on our order, the manager said it is because of an event. When the food finally arrived, the half chicken is dry, the bass is 39$ and came with a single piece of fish and a sprinkle of veggies, and the mushroom risottos is made with water from the Pacific Ocean. What made it worse is that server came to our table 4 times in total, once to take the order, once to fill the water, once to bring the meal and last the get the check in the span of 90min. Despite the fact that she was chatting up the table beside our table. Lastly the server was extremely passive aggressive when we were paying, slamming the receipt on the table. Would not go again, terrible experience.
The service at this place was non-existent. We had poor service two nights before for dinner but thought they maybe had an off night. So we thought we could try again and go for breakfast since it is in the hotel we are staying at.
First we waited 12 minutes to be seated even though there was no one waiting. The restaurant was empty. No server came to our table for anything. It is a buffet so we got our own food but many of the dishes were empty or cold. Some of it was ok, so I gave a second star for that. We left our plates as no one came by to clear, and had to go back up front to pay at the end of the meal. I cannot believe how bad the service was, never in my experience have I had a meal at a restaurant with no one even coming by our table even once. It felt like a cafeteria.
Cocktails came out 10 mins apart, half the table was done drinking when the second half arrived. Soft drinks were just soda water. Food took 50 mins. Resturant was half full
We have been coming to Sun Peaks now for 10 years. Mantles used to be a lunch staple. But the last couple of years the service has been very slow. The food is generally ok.
Regrettably I don’t think we will be coming back given the other good options in town
