There is a middle aged man who I assume is the boss or somehow runs the place. As helpful as he is, he came across quite rude and abrasive. I ordered food for my family in takeaway packaging because we were worried that we might not get a place to sit inside. After the food was ready we managed to find a place. I politely asked him if it’s ok to just eat the food inside. He said it’s ok but that’s going to make them burn through a lot of waste and contribute to pollution. He has a point and I don’t totally disagree. I just thought he said it in an abrupt way and made me feel that I’m the main cause of pollution and excess waste! It was completely unnecessary to make that comment. Anyway, after a few minutes of dining he randomly opened one of my paper bags and had a peek without permission! I happened to walk into this place from the back door which allows guests from the adjacent lodge to enter from. As you walk in you get a glimpse of the kitchen and food prep area. It’s definitely below the standard for hygiene. The staff were filling and handling the sandwiches with bare hands whilst handing other equipment and not washing their hands in between / not wearing any gloves.

Excellent for breakfast and lunch, had the oatmeal parfait each morning at Sunpeaks which was great, also can't forget about the cinnamon buns. Coffee was really good. All the staff and owner were very friendly and would greet you by name, next time at Sunpeaks will definetly be back!

There are two places in Sun Peaks where I must eat when I visit and this is one of them. Their food is super excellent, coffee spot on and atmosphere and friendliness of the service staff is off the scale. I can't say enough about how wonderful an experience it is to visit this place and eat their food. Staff vibe is super good

The owner was the rudest most ignorant business owner I have ever experienced. He gave me shit for my order and told me to change how I order my drink.I ordered a latte with 1 pump of chocolate. He said I was confusing his everyone. The complete and udder rudeness that he showed myself, wife and sister while on holidays has left a lasting impression. I will never support Vertical Cafe & Bistro and would suggest others avoid it. As a regular who owns a condo up here I can’t believe the interaction I experienced from this guy. After supporting this business for years it’s very disappointing to say I can no longer support them. I will also be sure to share my experience with anyone I know who frequents Sunpeaks.
We spent a week in Sun Peaks and we went to Verticale Cafe every morning for breakfast. It was the best cafe and service in town. Thanks Robert and your team for the amazing service and coffee you gave us!
