Service and atmosphere were great no complaints there, but I truly haven't had worse Tacos ever. Fish and coconut shrimp were cheap and frozen and the cheese sticks were barely eatible. Really disappointing to spent $50 on such a bad meal :(

Our server was wonderful, even caught the mistake the kitchen made without us mentioning it. She deserves 5 stars.Three main menu items were sold out and it was only 6pm.The food was lackluster and just missed the mark. Cheap ingredients on top of tortillas...franks hot sauce on overcooked over breaded chicken with oversized raw onion and corn, pineapple so big it was still frozen in the middle and overtook the small overcooked shrimp. Every taco we tried, the toppings way over powered the main protein. Easy fix, chop smaller to control topping to main. Not comparable to Nelson's taco place. Will not go back.

I mean …… the best thing I can say is the name fits and the thrifted decor is cool - the food, prices and service are a solid 1.75. We were lead here by a general lack of open lunch spots on a Saturday so I guess that’s a plus. If you look at my other reviews I’m not a negative Nancy so this one feels bad but the more I thought about my experience the more I felt the need to share honestly.Service: overworked single person serving so not a whole lot of blame on her but 1. When my son asked for salt (which should be a clue there’s something amiss with your food to start with). She said “ugh…..I don’t know I’ll look in the back” and never did or follow up. 2. A cute old couple came in and when he engaged her with an Hola and “Como Estas?” She said “hola” and disinterestedly wiped down the table …. He engaged further and she was completely unfriendly and walked away ……. If you can’t find it in you to be friendly to a 7 year old boy or a sweet old couple you pbly shouldn’t be in this line of work.Price: $19 for 3 tacos ….. not gourmet but the meat portion was large. $19 for burrito the size of your head - lots of food but price doesn’t match the style/size of the restaurant and especially doesn’t feel like a value given the taste or overall experience. $10 for chips and guacamole/salsa app (fair) $10 for cheesy tots (meh overpriced)Food: Solidly in the 1 realm. Chips and salsa and guacamole - guacamole tasted like it was spooned out of a bucket of premade stuff - no flavor and white watery although there were chunks of fresh-ish tomatoes so maybe just really bad avocados and made a day earlier…. salsa was sweet but slightly remedied with the liter bottle of hot sauce provided on the table. Chips were ok but a little soft and sprinkled with a chipotle powder …. It was weird. I ordered carne asada tacos - meat reminds me of the cafeteria shaved meat that’s a combination of meats and a flour binder …. There was shredded cheddar cheese melted under the meat …. Weirdest combo of carne asada I’ve had in a taco ….. and just completely lacking in flavor. Husband ordered carne asada burrito (old Mexico something style). His biggest “beef” was the not carne - carne asada. Kids got loaded tots….. the tots tasted fried or rolled in old oil or something weird/off. …..Overall I wouldn’t go again, I’d buy a bag of chips and a soda from a gas station and save my money for dinner elsewhere. I would’ve given it a 2 but feel the need to balance all of the gushing reviews with a recent honest one. Perhaps a “new” untrained cook?! If you read other negative reviews my impression is they pbly make their money on alcohol (hence the up charge for take out where you wouldn’t be ordering drinks). No shame in that model but maybe market as such.

Honestly the service and the employees are amazing but the food quality has went really downhill from when they first opened, apparently there was 2 owners at first and now only 1 so I assume that’s why the food quality has gone downhill.

The tacos were very tasty.I might have considered giving a 5 star review, but they tacos were advertised as being on 6" corn tortillas, and they're more like 5" tortillas, which, y'know, if you're a math nerd who keeps a tape measure in their car, like me, is upsetting. Why? Because pi*r^2 is the formula of a circle, so this taco is only about 70% the size of the advertised one. (Maybe the tortillas shrink a bit when they're cooked?)The carne asada taco, at the very least, had a generous portion of carne. The coco camaron and Nashville hot chicken tacos were both a bit skimpy for their price, and I don't understand why I had to pay $2 extra for take-out.

Subpar Mex food, to westernized tasting. Ok drinks, cute atmosphere, but not much variety for food and not the best. But if you don’t know real Mex food, then you might not mind this
