I usually go there to get food to go. There's something set of changed over the years. You can't get a steak there anymore. They changed the buns because the bakery where they used to get them is shut down. Other than that Colander is still a good place to go.
Everyone in the area and visiting should experience the Colander at-least once. Local staple dining experience, just as good to take out. Fantastic spaghetti. The special is overrated, just get meatballs.
A true classic. I stopped in here for the first time in ages this past summer and will gladly visit again. The food quality is good and the quantities are insane. We had to wait a while to be seated, but I don't blame the staff because it seemed like they were shorthanded. Also, there's a seating area where you can drink beer and wine while you wait to be seated. The space is large and offers a lot of seating, but is basically windowless. I can't wait to come back...
