6 out of 5 if I could. Well worth driving downtown off the highway. Chicken panini with jerk sauce!! Beats expectations.

We were visiting from Alberta and we were so excited to visit Valemount and check out some smaller and local businesses. Obviously it’s so tiny and not many options, So that led us to checking out the gathering tree for lunch. We unfortunately walked out extremely disappointed. We had two young children with us and considering it had a kids menu you would think it would be kid friendly. We had eyes rolled the second we walked in. I’m assuming most were locals. I get not wanting to hear kids, but what left us to leave was when a waitress tried to bribe my kid to be quiet with gold fish saying “you can have these but only if you are quiet. People are trying to enjoy.” We just got up and left. Yes our kids were on the louder / hyper side… after all we had just driven 3.5 hours and they were very hungry. We will never go back there ever again. Which is saying a lot since it’s one of the only places to have lunch.

Such a cute little spot to stop for a quick bite to eat. We got a couple of Ruben sandwiches and a London fog and coffee. It was super fast and was equally delicious.

We were passing through Valemount a couple weeks ago, feeling hungry, wanting more than a snack from a gas station, and remembered 'The Gathering Tree' from a previous visit a few years back.

Staff were great, the ladies were friendly and joking around with me as I tried to decide what to order.

Sadly because we were heading straight back out onto the road and I was driving, I wasn't able to try the special noodle bowl they had on that day, which sounded delicious, but I went with the Reuben instead, a good choice IMHO.

Don't know the next time we might be through Valemount again but they're on my map to visit anywhere nearby.

Food average with smallish portions. Half the order didn't arrive at table until the other diners were almost finished. Just ok.
