We recently visited The Homestead Brewhouse to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday, hoping for a nice lunch. Unfortunately, our experience was terrible. Both my father-in-law and mother-in-law ordered poutine, but when it arrived, it was cold. The cheese curds hadn’t even started to melt, and the fries were soggy. We immediately flagged down the waitress, who agreed with us after feeling the poutine herself. My mother-in-law’s dish was sent back, though my father-in-law opted to keep his despite it also being cold, not wanting to make a fuss. Unfortunately, after the dish had been given to the kitchen the bald cook stuck his head out the serving window and yelled at the waitress who was working on another table (so the entire restaurant could hear) that he was refusing to remake the poutine. The waitress returned to apologize, explaining that the cook has a bad temper (we are not sure why he would have been hired to work in the customer service industry). While we appreciated the waitress and her apology, the overall experience was fairly horrific, especially since it was a special occasion. Needless to say this restaurant has lost our patronage for the foreseeable future.

6 of use went for lunch for a birthday celebration. 2 ordered poutine both were cold, gravy didn't even try and melt the cheese. I sent mine back it was so disgusting and the cook told the waitress there was nothing wrong with it and he wasn't making another one. The poor waitress is the one that has to deal with telling the customer not the cook who was doing his job poorly.

On a Saturday I went in at 7:50pm and was given a night menu. We asked for a poutine as it's on the menu and we were told they were out of gravy. I cooked for 20 years it takes 5 minutes to make it! Had to wait 5 minutes just to be seated. I have done both cooking and waitress it was not busy. I will not recommend this place to anyone. This has happened to us 3 times now.

I will definitely come back here because of the taco salad! It's not the healthiest salad choice but you have to try it. Just missing some slices of avocado then this would be perfect for me! 10/10
Service was great. The young lady was nice and friendly. Smiles too so that's some bonus points!

Meals took 45 minutes + and overall service sparse. Burgers were cold with wrong ingredients, chicken questionable portion size. Steak sandwich disappointing.
Overcooked and poorly spiced food. Took a long time to come so was disappointing. Was really busy when we arrived but cleared out soon after and it still took the 1 server a long time to return to us. The beef quesadilla was inedible because of the weird spices and the chicken strips were dry and overcooked.

The food always hits the spot, the drink selection is great, and the staff/atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and down to earth. If you're looking for a place in town to have a bite, I strongly recommend Homestead Brewhouse!
